You want a pathetic story?

My BiL and sister were married for like 25 years..He died 7 years ago almost to the day..in a hotel in the arms of another woman..a nasty employee.
It was UT-FLA week when I was in Houston.
He was one of my best friends and had it all. Owned a store 2 miles from the cabin house at the foot of a mountain...played golf..we played all the private clubs in Nooga..Good times..and this stinker.
What the heck were you thinking?

I should not of shared this..but this week is sad for me for other reasons.
That sucks. Did your sister eventually find a better spouse?

Bro, I hate to see marriages end. I hope as yall navigate your new future both of you will find happiness.

Thanks Pimpin. I am just taking a wait and see approach, and am more focused than ever on my kids. Good to be able to vent here. I am gonna go get hammered drunk soon. Been many years.

you're one of the few id give up my policy of not getting drunk for the last few months for (to get hammered with you)

Well she is 61 now..no but she has dated. She is very attractive and looks like she is 50.. She is still a looker and I am proud of her. Been rough. Funny cause..the dude at the Honda dealership said he thought I was in my 40's and my Mom who is 83 looks 70.. Young looking genes I guess.

But she is in a good place..it was like a Daily TV show there for awhile with transfer of store ownership and even our CPA Dad getting involved in the dispute over there 50/50 ownership of the store by BIL with his brother.

I forgive ya Bro..taken me some time to say that.

This is a great place to vent brother. I do it frequently. Good bunch of dudes here, and no shame. I have talked about mental health, marriage crap, in laws and kids...the guys here have wisdom from experience and try to be helpful. I do not worry about anyone here judging me man, I've been around long enough to know that everyone has their vice...whether they choose to discuss it, hide it, or pretend their sheit don't stink ...it does. Nobody here is now nor ever will be in a place to judge you, or me. We can certainly encourage eachother, give advice, or even pray for one another. Hope your sister and family are well and you have a great week bro. We are gonna punch Flarduh in the mouth...even without our 1st team All SEC receiver Tillman. They flat cannot throw the ball...so unless their backup comes in and hangs 40 on us...(happened b4) we gonna wip em good. GO VOLS

Dont do it Marcus

Not gonna go out....may not even get hammered, i have said this many times. But my Boss is a good friend, I can go hang out at his house because he drinks pretty heavy every day...can get drunk and sleep on his couch. Need to shed some stress man. Without violence or self destruction...not real easy to do. I have never found any answers at the bottom of a bottle though. No denying that.

I am ready to fight you guys this AM.

Baseball games blow. What a useless effing sporting event to go see live. When even the diehards who organize your work event leave in the 7th inning what's the effing point? People arent there to watch the game they go socialize in the concorse or sit and their seats and never look at the game. As a fan there is no benefit to being at the game, every American baseball stadium had the same five chants with one "unique" one thrown in. ooooh atlanta does the chop when the other team huddles, get me the eff out of that nonsense. And you know it's bad when the sport as a whole has a moment to pause so people can stretch to wake the eff up.

You pay 30 bucks to get in, sweat your butt off in uncomfortable seats, with no real view, pay stadium pricing for mediocre at best food, you are there for 4 freaking hours even if you arent there early. And nothing happens for 3 hours and 55 minutes and when something does happen there arent even enough fans paying attention to make it worth while. Just about any other sporting event is better in person but baseball? Forget it. My office could have just rented out a sports bar and gotten the exact same results, saved money, gotten better food and drinks, and been comfortable. Everyone still could have socialized and chatted and kept up with the game.

It's literally just an expensive waste of time to say "I was there" at the next social event. It's such a self congratulating sport, everyone gets a participation trophy for showing up. You get a soccer score at a football game with the crowd involvement of a horse race. View attachment 492228
I go to watch the game and stay until the very end every single time. Plus when analyzing players nowadays you realize how important stats like FIP, OPS, BABIP, etc are to the sport. I've been to 3 MLB games this year and am thinking about doing a Cali trip to see the Padres, A's, Dodgers, Angels and Giants play in the next few years. Hopefully the A's will still be in Oakland then.

I can go into more details as to why the sport is not only fun to watch but great as well. But I'll pass for now.

To really enjoy the game you do. I get it, I understand why people don't like baseball. People these days like constant action and don't appreciate the subtleties involved with baseball. I don't like the way the game is played today, too reliant on the long ball and I enjoy watching great pitching and teams manufacturing runs by playing small ball.
Right now the Cleveland Guardians are 2nd to last in MLB in HRs but 3rd best for SBs. They are currently leading the AL Central.

Its
Great

It's the way the shift is played that has screwed everything up. It clearly smart but has changed the game for the worse

Mike Gundy throwing a temper tantrum again.

I mean, you'd think they would be happy knowing they wouldn't have to win every game into almost the 22nd Century to even the series.

Gundy: Bedlam ending 'somebody else's decision'

It's really a shame the old Southwest Conference went away. Change is not always for the better; more regional conferences with some cross conference games and good bowl games made a lot of sense.

I quit smoking two years ago. I basically locked myself in the garage or stayed at work for two weeks. Had to avoid the wife and kid. Wouldn't have made it, or would have been murdered, had I not taken such actions.
I stopped before for over a year…. Until I started dating a certain someone…. 🤔😮‍💨

She's quit before. Turns into a nympho, so, I might be doomed in other ways.
Accurate statement. I really enjoyed being a non-smoker and I wasn’t even remotely moody during the withdrawal phase. Actually lost a ton of weight as well… Then the smoking returned along with the weight…. BOO!!!

Here's a fun baseball fact.

On July 6, 1986 Bob Horner hit 4 HRs in an 11-8 loss to the Montreal Expos. Which many baseball fans are familiar with Horner's accomplishment that day.

Al Newman also had a HR that game. That was the only HR of Al Newman's 8 year MLB career and his 2,409 plate appearances.
