No one looks unbeatable.

Our defense does enough where they arent losing us games anymore. They may not be helping, but they arent a direct negative anymore.

It's just really unfortunate that our offense being so good hurts our D, because teams know they have to play super aggressive. And that generally means more passing than normal.

If our offense was a step or two slower, opposing teams wouldnt be going for it on 4th and 5, 4th and 3, all the time.

But at least they are getting occasional stops.

Oh, I agree there's little to be done this year. But it certainly needs to be a recruited area next year.

Just watched part of KY and SC. The question is which one is going to completely self destruct first. SC can't tackle runners ... assuming KY runners actually get going. Rattler can't pass for chit. Nobody seems to be able to hang on to the ball. It's like the Keystone cops playing football.

...and a slew of people were trying to hype Rattler for the Heisman (again) before the start of the season. He is exactly what we knew he was...hot garbage...and we're not going to let him off the hook.

…and it’s better for us that Alabama is still undefeated coming into Knoxville next week. I was really torn watching the end of that game. I couldn’t pull for Bama, but I knew it was better for UT for them to win today.

Luckily, I hate both teams with a passion.

Oklahoma State player smartly exploits NCAA fair catch rule to ruin a Texas Tech onside kick

If the ball goes airborn....on an onsides kick...the receiver whom the ball is headed toward can call FOR A FAIR CATCH and is given all the protections given a player fielding a regular punt or kickoff.

Wow!!! OKSU special teams coach used the rule book to get his team the ball AFTER it had traveled 10 yards and been recovered by the kicking team!!! Kudos for him knowing the rules best. Bravo....

From now on either:

1. Teams will seriously alter onsides kicks and make them all squibkick kinda corkscew balls that never leave the ground ....or....

2.The NCAA will have to change the wording of that rule to remove the fair catch from onside kicks altogether....OR clarify that the intent of the rule IS to make the onside kick a VERY low % play that should ONLY be used in desperation at the end of the half/regulation when a team is behind and likely will never have posession of the ball again without a successful onsides conversion.

Either way....wow.

We have 14 DBs here on scholarship now...of those 1 of them was a legit 4 star coming out of HS/portal to UT from what i have read. The rest were 3 stars.

We have 7 (!!!) DBs already committed in this 2023 class so far. Nearly all of them are 4 stars...some right at 5 stars...and the lowest rated from last that i saw was Jack "white lightnin" Luttrell who is a safety out of GA that is a high 3 star thats rated as a 4 star on 1 service but a 3star composite. The comparison i read said that Jack Luttrell is ranked higher than 11 out of our current 14 players at DB. ....but ranked 7th out of 7 new DBs for the 23 class!!! That should give an indication on talent thats coming to compete for playing time from day 1 guys.

Go VOLS!!! WGWTFA!!!
