Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

So what you're saying is, anyone can when we do not play up to potential? Seems like a truism to me.
I'm saying not everyone can when we play up to our ability.

I give Arkie D line credit for being extra motivated last night.

Do you have to argue about everything?

After last game at OU and this one, I got to thinking...

I wonder if CJH is being very, very, very reserved with play calling since there really isn't anyone backing up Nico? I mean, yeah, you have Moore, a career backup that just isn't SEC starter quality.

The game plan last night just wasn't aggressive. Not like he's been in years past when he had Milton backing up Hooker or Nico backing up Milton.

He doesn't have that luxury this year with a talented QB waiting on the bench. And perhaps this is why the offense is very vanilla.

Look at the last play with a 2/3 man rush from Arky. The receivers were no more than 4 yards down the field as the LT just got whipped. You cant throw it 19 yards when you have to start running for you life that soon after receiving the snap....

Line is a significant concern.

I think the biggest factor is we have no choice. Heard and Campbell arent nearly as good at Tackle as what we had last year and a far cry from 2022. Our Guards arent looking great either, they get beat regularly as well...just not as bad as the Tackles. (Vs SEC especially)

Passes to the RB from the backfield either laterally or in the flat are the go-to answer for a blitzing defense or over aggressive Dline getting too far upfield. We never threw to RBs yesterday at all that I remember...Hype kept them in to block on nearly every passing down. Which also immediately tells the defense we are throwing, not running bc the RB stands still.

We are in trouble on the Oline. CJH coached around in with 12 personnel vs OK, we ran 12 in the 1st half some vs Ark and it wasnt very effective. Its "Back to the drawing board" time. We will find out really quick what they can scheme up with the Gators and Gumps coming next 2 weeks.

Heard was definitely a miss. Elarbee looks bad right now but thats due to not developing talent. He isnt going anywhere...he landed monster Oline classes last year and this year including the no1 Tackle in the country.

We will be hitting the portal HARD for linemen. Oline, Dline for next season.

We are in trouble at Tackle. Campbell started last season at LT. Hes pretty good...but hurt. Been hurt all year, knee I think. Heard is a bust. Period.

Edit:

Like 9-3 just went from "worst case" to "stretch goal" lmao. Gotta love the SEC. Prove me wrong, Coach. Please....

I have a suspicion Heard is playing through injury.
Normally we don't hear of the extent of a player's in-season injury until season's end.
