Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Don't do it. The water under the bridge would probably kill you, and there's nothing about GA worth dying for.
I won't be dying for Georgia. Eff them. It's Tennessee that broke my heart. Blame Tim Banks for my demise. If that a-hole had simply schemed a way to get pressure on Beck, we could have won that game. Instead, we let him sit in the pocket and destroy us.

That was either the worst the defense has played or GA was really good. I'm thinking the worst the defense (particularly the defensive line) has played - seemed like they were a step or two behind what was happening all night. It was really disappointing after getting used to a very good defense dominating other teams. The defensive backfield looked like the Keystone Cops a few too many times, too.

I'm still thinking this team is on a learning curve that was somewhat covered by an easier than usual schedule. The programs is getting better; the depth is much better; but many of the parts are new, hindering continuity. We lose some critical pieces for next year, so at best it's a couple of steps forward and one back. Nico probably shouldn't have been QB1 last year, but a one and done Joe Milton didn't help prepare for this year at all.

Secondary suffered from the defensive front getting no pressure on Beck. UGA's OL is a walking MASH unit, and we couldn't win the match ups up front. That's concerning. But Banks failed to make adjustments to find some way to get pressure on Beck. Beck falls apart under pressure. The defensive game plan, if there even was one, was horrible.

So, I just want to make sure I’ve got this straight. Your expectation was that we were going to go into Athens and beat Georgia by posting 17 points on the scoreboard.

I need some advice. I got a free $3 ticket for Draftkings as my birthday present from them. What would be a really good NFL fantasy lineup for today? It includes all games today and Monday.

Havent even checked the condition of the FF...dont really care.

I am in a good mood today though. I predicted since the end of last year that we would go 9-3. If we handle our business at Vandy, we finish 10-2 with a decent shot at the playoffs. Better than I had hoped for.

Our VOLS have exceeded my expectations. Nico is improving and has had a good season for a freshman QB , had a good enough game to beat UGA last night. He didnt miss throws. He hit guys in the hands, lead them properly, ran for some crucial 1st downs, and ran for his life most of the night including the whole 2nd half. Usually OUR Dline dominates the 2nd half...instead, theirs did. Our Oline got tired....Heard and Spraggins REALLY struggled IMO. Hope they heal up before Vandy. We are gonna have to hit the portal HARD on the Oline and Dline to make a playoff run next year. We have talent on both...but they arent ready yet.

Anyway. GO VOLS. We control only 2 things. Winning these games. Lets win em both and see where the cards fall.

Had some BVS flare up last night, but I'm feeling better today. It definitely helps that my birthday is today, lol.

As long as we are playing GA and Bama yearly - at least until something significant happens to any of the programs, I'm considering the away game a probable loss and the home game potentially a win. We haven't proved that we can beat GA in Neyland yet. Assuming Bama doesn't collapse before next year, I'd tend to pencil in two losses but hope somebody in the coaching staff gets a handle on playing GA. Bama may no longer be the solid year in year out team it was; we'll see with time. One thing for sure is that we probably can't beat those teams and the refs. It's not so much the penalties as it is the calls that a catch was a catch or not - or a fumble was a fumble or not - the things that kill or let a drive continue. And then there's the holding crap; football needs to pull it's head out of the azz and decide whether it is a thing or we'll just forget all about it, but this half azzed approach to holding is nonsense.
