Wow.. Really..How do you know how many you have left? I have been liking the h*ll out of everything lately...lol

I assume you have unlimited likes, but she meant she could only like your post once.

You can't like it again.

Not so.

1. Jerry Jones is a control freak.
2. He was still getting compensation from TB.

1. He's not the same guy who ran off JJ.
2. Gruden was fired 3-4 years ago...if "America's Team" gives you the keys, you aren't going to say no because the Glazers are paying you unemployment.

In any event it doesn't really matter. I'm just saying I don't think career NFL guys make good college coaches--Pete Carroll notwithstanding, but he got ran out of the League pretty fast back in the 90s.

Why would Gruden want to come here when he can make $4 million to sit in a booth for ESPN? You'd have to double that to get him here and that won't happen. Why do we want him? He was a graduate assistant. That's the only ties he has to the university. I'm sorry, but this hire doesn't even make sense. Can he coach players that aren't NFL caliber? He won a championship with Dungy's players. In the six years that followed the Super Bowl win, he only made it to the playoffs twice and lost both wild card games.

Can he even recruit? Would he even know how or have the desire to do it? Do you think a Super Bowl ring means that much to a kid. Maybe it does. Maybe it doesn't.

Sorry, y'all! We need a coach with the complete college background. This is not the NFL. Give me someone who understands what it takes to mentor kids right out of high school. Big undertaking.

Disclaimer: I thought the Dooley hire was awful, but I grew to respect him. Aside from the free pass he gave Bray, he has more or less rid the team of riffraff and kept the boys out of the newspapers....at the expense of his own success. We wanted a character guy after the Kiffin fiasco. We got it. Let's at least wait until the season's end to put the real estate signs in his yard. He's at least earned that much.

^^^This:thumbsup:

It's not always about the money. We could chalk up $5 million for him, but some people actually like coaching and love the thrill it gives them. If Gruden considered us, money would not be the deciding factor.

Tampa Bay would never have won the Super Bowl with Tony Dungy as Head Coach. Jon Gruden gave that organization exactly what it needed.

Maybe he likes coaching, and wants to get back into it.

Just because you would rather sit in a booth, doesn't mean he would.

With all of the college and coaching turnover since he left the game, tell me why he hasn't landed somewhere. Do you honestly think Tennessee was what he was waiting for? If so, there would be no Kiffin or Dooley. C'mon!

derek dooley is still employed, what's his worth?

A few unemployed coaches for you just so I can sh1t on your pile of sh1t post.

Phillip Fulmer
Jon Gruden
Bill Cower
Bobby Patrino
John Madden
Tony Dungy
Herm Edwards
Jim Tressel (not a HC)
Etc, etc, etc....

Now then. Your pile of sh1t is now double in size because it just got sh@t on.

Edit: my bad bray. Meant to quote Kobe's stupid azz

If he's such a bad candidate, then why does his name continue to come up every time any NFL team or major college team has an opening or is close to having an opening?

This is actually something I'd like to know the answer to as well. You figure if you're that hot of a commodity, someone would hire you after 3-4 years out of the game. IMO, there's just not a lot of guys who people know and since Gruden is a commentator, it's easy for people to say he's great. 32 NFL GMs don't seem to share that view for one reason or another...

The whole resigning thing is just there for the coach to save face. He is fired but is allowed to stand at a podium and say he loves the university too much.

Yes unfortunately and this thread is taking all of mine! :) We get 50 a day per Freak.

Doesn't he know that you and I will need more than that....

We will have to speak to him about about our accounts...:)

Thanks for the info.... I never knew that... I am really surprised that I have never ran out as I am liking stuff all the time...

Maybe he will let us roll them over to the next day almost like vacation time at work....:loco:

You actually believe there is no NFL team that would taken Gruden?
