With all of the college and coaching turnover since he left the game, tell me why he hasn't landed somewhere. Do you honestly think Tennessee was what he was waiting for? If so, there would be no Kiffin or Dooley. C'mon!

This has already been hashed and rehashed before. Go back 5000 pages and start reading. Besides, No way you change our minds on this thread, but you do give us reason to keep this thread going.

You'll see how wrong you are in about a week. Possibly less.

Unless a "big fish" is ready to sign, it would look a little weird to fire him after a win over SCar. They could avoid that "risk" by moving on this week. I doubt we beat SCar though, obviously. I'll be there though. Much easier drive for me than Knoxville, and I can enjoy Hudson's Smokehouse afterwards.

I know I am crazy, but I have a different take on Gruden than everyone else.. I think he likes the challenge....

I personally think that he would love to get into the college ranks..

Why do you coach in the pros? To win a Superbowl... Been there and done that.. What is left....

Go to a D1 school and try to win a NC....

I am not sure there is another coach that has ever done that (won a Superbowl and a NC)...

I would tend to think that there is a coach that has and I am not aware of it, but there can't be very many coaches that have won both..

He would be legendary if he could accomplish both in his lifetime..

By smarter you mean waiting until Auburn, Ark., and Texas are in the market for a coach??? Gotcha, sounds smart.

You honestly think Hart can get a coach worth a damn to take over this job in the middle of a season? Tell me again when this has ever happened. I want a coach who still has a job right now because he is winning on the field.

Actually it's Ergen, but you're right. I was screwing it up. It happens.

Dang, not sure if I mistyped as well, or forgot again while attempting to correct you. I have had to search his name several times, as I keep forgetting the spelling.

Charley Ergen, co-founder of Dish

I think I have it straight.

Jimmy Johnson and his hair are on line 1

Probably less if certain people have the influence they think they do.
I normally would agree that it should wait until the season is over, but making the announcement early can help in not only giving the incoming coach a lot more time to set up their staff, but it also gives the current assistants motivation to show they deserve to be retained by the new HC. It would help in recruiting...so that prospects know this program isn't settling for mediocrity

Barry Switzer and Jimmy Johnson did.

Medic, glad to see you are getting with the program!:dance2:

I am posting because of what someone who is paid to keep his ears and eyes on collegiate sports programs told me after the game. He is not a booster nor an "insider" but a writer. He is not even a UT fan, he is a grad of MTSU as a matter of fact. Something Jay mentioned earlier reflects what he said, and that got my attention.
