Official Jon Gruden Thread II (merged)

You know nothing about any current situation that involves the most important decisions at the University of Tennessee and its satellite schools. You wish that your one sole contact who knows the ticket office manager is dead on about what he heard in his break room the other day. It could not be farther from the truth. These threads are what destroy momentum for the program, destroy recruits perspective of a solidified fanbase, and create nothing but false hope.

breaking news: The fans or VN isnt doing that to UT, this is what Dooley and his stooges are doing to the program.Face it Dooley isnt winning out and when the next home game comes around and the stadium is half empty then you know the fans have spoken.like it or not.

Just got back from the game and have not yet read the 30 pages I am behind, so if already answered, I apologize. What is in the grand plan that would preclude Hart from firing dooley tomorrow?

Theres been a lot of talk in this thread that Hart wouldn't fire Dooley during the season, but what would happen if Dooley resigned? Just throwing this out there for discussion.

Oh, you silly thing. You're reading my mind....

So if that's where this info is coming from, how legit is the Gruden info? He's under contract to ESPN for a few more seasons, has his family based in Tampa, hasn't been in college coaching in 20 years and could prob land a dozen NFL jobs or, if he was serious about college, prob jobs better than UT. Why are you so confident he's ready to take-on a rebuilding job in the toughest conference?

Just looked this up and posted it in the FF, but if any Dool-aide drinkers are left then please explain this....

From 1982-2009 UT lost 3 games by 30+ points. ('88 vs Auburn, '94 vs UF, 07 vs UF)

In the past 2 1/2 years with Dooley we have lost 6 games by 30+. (2010 vs Oregon, Bama, LSU, 2011 vs Bama, Ark 2012 vs Bama)

How can anyone justify keeping Dooley?

alright. time to set it straight.

its been terrible watching the vols this year. we have had missed opportunity after opportunity. However, Hart is not going to fire dooley unless he loses to Mizzou, UK, or Vandy. If he loses to one of those teams, he is gone. Most people on here say its a done deal and he is gone. that is so far from the truth. Dooley is back with a 7-5 season. No realistic booster who has made hundreds of millions looks at one game and makes a rash decision. Thats why they made so much money, because they make smart, focused, and thought out decisions. Is the writing on the wall for dooley? sure, 2013's schedule looks worse than ever, however boosters are not sure they can get the big hire they need right now. these lower tier boosters have contacted gruden, but they are not the haslams or thornton. is gruden interested? yea he has an ear out but is not waiting anxiously for a phone call. If dooley closes out with wins even after a loss to USCe, he is back next year.

And we're the delusional ones????

this is comical. seriously. all this witty banter with smiley faces about how people are feeling minute to minute. its completely pathetic and borderline psychotic. Majority of posters on here contribute nothing to UT other than a loud mouth with no reasoning. Hart is not firing Dooley.

Buyout is lower, recruiting status would be better given that we are in on Green, North, Bell, Johnson, and some would say Lawson. Plus we are still in a terrible recession. People forget these boosters don't have money that grows on trees and their extremely stingy.
