Coaching UT or college is much easier than the Browns or NFL. Ask Saban, Petrino, spurrier, or Pete Carroll.
I've never attacked a poster. But I will go after a flawed argument.
You keep questioning why you are attacked, acknowledging that you have not read an of the thread.
Then you tell a new poster to go back prior in the thread to read your previous posts.
Your questions and arguments wouldnt be original if the first dozen to post them were removed from the conversation.
This, more than anything, is why you are being attacked. k:
Ok, fair point I guess. But what if he takes the job then Jerry Jones poaches him after a year or two? Lane Kiffin 2.0. Do you really think a guy like Gruden would be committed to UT for the long term? He's the color com for Monday Night Football; he's use to a lot more attention and a bigger atmosphere than what Knoxville provides--personally as well as professionally.

And I don't see the deck as being stacked against a good coach at UT. A really good coach (Saban, Meyer, hopefully Gruden) wouldn't have a problem winning here with the team and facilities we have right now as a starting off point.
Not trying to be a jerk and call you out, but that is impossible. If DD had been told anything like that word would leak. Secondly, why would Hart tell him that mid-season before tonight's game? If DD was a dead man walking, Hart would keep it quite and go about his search with DD being the last to know before the public.

What I meant is UF ain't gonna fall off the earth like some were predicting post-Meyer. Same goes for the other top dogs in the conference. In college, Gruden will have to scheme for the Spread, fight recruiting battles where other SEC schools cheat to get players, tow the line with silly NCAA rules, recruit constantly, etc.
The NFL has none of that.

I've got a better chance at performing a 360 dunk blindfolded, than Gruden agreeing to work with Jerry Jones.
