The deal on the table as of right now (what I was told a little while ago) would make Gruden the highest paid coach in college football. The boosters "want" to win so bad they don't care about money anymore.

As much as I believe that Gruden is target #1, I dont believe that there is a deal on the table right now. I only say that because I dont think Dooley will be told that he is done til after the Bama game or after the SC game. I just dont think things are moving as fast as you are suggesting.

It may depend on who is doing the deal. I wouldn't be shocked based on what I was told about the MSU game.

Boro-vol not only one saying something. Call erik ainge show and ask erik off air if gruden rumors are true and he will tell you they are. Dooley is done in 13 days

This changes the national perception of Tennessee overnight....in ways we can't really quantify yet.

Liken our facilities and program to a racecar.....you don't build the perfect racecar and hire a taxi driver to race it. You go and get a Jimmy Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Dale Jr. type of driver to race it. (Insert your own driver....I hate NASCAR.)

When that happens, an immediate sense of legitimacy is restored. You think ESPN hates us......wait. You cannot buy the type of publicity this will bring. Very few hires would bring the type of national prominence we're about to see....without playing a game.

He's not trolling. This info is coming from a multitude of people. I can guarantee you contact has been made and there is interest.

I want to believe, I really do. But the past has left me jaded. With all the "done deals" of the past giving me flash backs. I hope you guys are spot on and I am still in here hanging on every word. So here is to good faith.

I can see how a deal would be moving quickly at this point. I don't think we want to take the chance of a job like Texas opening.
