The deal on the table as of right now (what I was told a little while ago) would make Gruden the highest paid coach in college football. The boosters "want" to win so bad they don't care about money anymore.
As much as I believe that Gruden is target #1, I dont believe that there is a deal on the table right now. I only say that because I dont think Dooley will be told that he is done til after the Bama game or after the SC game. I just dont think things are moving as fast as you are suggesting.

This changes the national perception of Tennessee overnight....in ways we can't really quantify yet.
Liken our facilities and program to a racecar.....you don't build the perfect racecar and hire a taxi driver to race it. You go and get a Jimmy Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Dale Jr. type of driver to race it. (Insert your own driver....I hate NASCAR.)
When that happens, an immediate sense of legitimacy is restored. You think ESPN hates us......wait. You cannot buy the type of publicity this will bring. Very few hires would bring the type of national prominence we're about to see....without playing a game.
