This isn't about race. That's where people like you take it when they have nothing else.
This is about you getting flat out busted for saying you have a cousin starting on the team.
If you don't like being busted giving out false info, then stop posting that you have family on the team.

What does it matter at this point to you MedicT? It either is going to happen or not. You choose to believe it now (based on the information you have gathered) or not.

I would speculate heavily that there might be other places outside of this thread where relevant information might be obtained.

Thought I would jump into the fray again. I've been busy this week so I have not had the time to keep up. What "factual" information exists that Gruden is coming to UT? I am not looking for an argument, I am trying to take an objective view.

About all I have gathered so far:

1. Gruden was a grad student at UT so he might have some desire to return.

2. Mrs. Gruden was a UT cheerleader and her family is from Newport, I think?

3. Gruden either owns or has owned property near Sevierville.

4. Gruden probably wants to get back to coaching in the future.

5. Gruden is a charismatic, energetic coach and will in all likelihood succeed when and where he takes a coaching position.

I know everyone is doing there best to convince themselves and everyone else that he is packing his bags for Knoxville but is there any evidence that this may happen other than unsubstantiated rumor? Has Gruden made any comment in the recent past, positive or negative, regarding the UT program?

I want to clear something up.

While it would be great, Tennessee does not NEED a big name coach. I firmly believe that Charlie Strong would do fine here. What I've heard about Kirby Smart makes me feel optimistic he would also do well. There are other coaches who could come here and win. While I want Gruden, I hope people realize that there are other people who can be successful here.

People need to stop equating everyone who isn't a 'big fish' with Derek Dooley. Dooley isn't losing because he wasn't a big name coach. He isn't losing because of stability, in state talent, injuries (to himself or others), or negavols on the message boards. Dooley is losing because he's a bad college football coach. I'm confident his replacement will not be.

Done with Sparty. When my family gets called out in a tongue in cheek bigoted way. Unless someone quotes him-her-it then I will not get pissed first thing in the morning lol. Couldn't believe that, my wife is mixed and I find that the epitome of ignorance to make a post like that whether he believes me or not. My biggest issue is my big mouth, but not honesty. If anything honesty gets me in trouble on the regular.

Yes I agree too, and up until the last several days I saw Gruden as a "pipe dream" and have said many many times that Dooley is not a good coach or leader, and even if Gruden falls through we need change.

Smokey can take off the dog suit and lose every game we are dogs and win most games we are favored a lot cheaper than $133k per game.

But its much easier to take the victim route, rather than admit to lying your ass off.
