Has anyone heard of any names being mentioned by boosters or Hart besides, Gruden, Smart, or Strong? Maybe Cutcliffe, Stoops, Fulmer, Kelly?

I agree we need a coach who not only can seal the deal with Tennessee recruits, but recruit the surrounding states...Remember we are close to Kentucky, Arkansas, Bama, Mississippi, Georgia, Florida, Lousianna, South Carolina, North Carolina. We are the only school besides Kentucky and Arkansas that has rich states all around its borders. We have an advantage, we just need a winner, and a smooth talking coach.

C'mon I have not had the time to keep up this week and wanted to know if a shred of anything real had come up.

I am tired of reading the same old "Yeehaw Gruden's a comin' to Knoxville" followed by some version of Gruden, Gruden Gruden......Gruden 2013. That's all. Yes I am still a skeptic and I called my cousins, one of which is a sportswriter for a major southern newspaper, who hasn't heard anything, my brother, my sister, and my next door neighbor and have no idea if Gruden is interested.:hi:

So basically Yay4Bray, Boro-Vol, JayVols, etc., were all completely full of **** when they said this was a done deal?

I know they aren't ideal choices but at least they maybe better than Dooley. Stoops chokes, Fulmer can't change game plans, Cutcliffe probably won't hire a prestigious staff, and Kelly's system may or may not work in the SEC, but better than Dooley.

If you are tired of reading about coaching rumors and speculation, perhaps clicking in threads in the coaching rumors and speculation forum isnt the best way to avoid them.

No, Im not saying they are wrong or right, they have heard differently than I have and we will all only know when things are official in November.

I'm disappointed by the latest rumor going around. Any name other than Gruden, is waaaaayyyy down my personal list of coaches. If Gruden does decline officially, I hope the "big boys" go after still yet another "name" coach and not settle like we did with CDD. After the last 3 years, we gotta have someone with the ability to pull in the top recruits.

Just to be clear Bearcat, has Coach Dooley's fate been sealed? In other words, as far as you know, will Coach Dooley be fired in Nov?

From what I have been told, yes, barring a win against bama and/or SC. Others say differently, but I am only stating what I have been told.

No argument with that. I am giving Jay and everyone else who claims some bit of ethereal knowledge the benefit of the doubt and figure it might be best to keep a Gruden info inquiry within the bounds of this thread. No more no less.
