Due to the landscape of the SEC and college football today and the fact we must recruit nationally. I feel that we will be unable compete "year in and year out" with FL, LSU, GA, AL or any school with great instate talent. Our best chance to compete would be to have a polarizing figure as a coach to help attract the best players. Outside of great instate talent Tennessee has everything else. I think Dooley has done a good job recruiting but not as good as the schools mentioned aboved. I guess I'm trying to make the arguement that it would be more important that Tennessee have a star coach for recruiting purposes than maybe FL, TX, or LSU.
What does it matter at this point to you MedicT? It either is going to happen or not. You choose to believe it now (based on the information you have gathered) or not.
I would speculate heavily that there might be other places outside of this thread where relevant information might be obtained.
I am tired of reading the same old "Yeehaw Gruden's a comin' to Knoxville" followed by some version of Gruden, Gruden Gruden......Gruden 2013. That's all. Yes I am still a skeptic and I called my cousins, one of which is a sportswriter for a major southern newspaper, who hasn't heard anything, my brother, my sister, and my next door neighbor and have no idea if Gruden is interested.:hi:
C'mon I have not had the time to keep up this week and wanted to know if a shred of anything real had come up.

If you are tired of reading about coaching rumors and speculation, perhaps clicking in threads in the coaching rumors and speculation forum isnt the best way to avoid them.
