My dad doesn't have Internet access (I know) and he calls me every morning and asks what are the insiders saying today. It's hilarious he asks by name. He has a friend that laughs at him for believing this. He told me last night "I'm going to drive to his house when this goes down to see his face". He is a grudenite.
Lots of discussion on that topic. The only thing I can figure if sbv is right the only difference between the two hires is one resigned and the other was relieved. Can't see how that would matter but that's it. Unless they got an exception due to the emergency timing due to signing day.
Good morning Grudenites. I read several pages from last night and thought I could provide some clarification of HR guidelines at a state run institution. My wife is second in charge in HR at a state run institution.
She says the athletic department plays by a different set of rules typically. One that would allow a direct hire without normal interviewing and even posting procedures. (I.E Dooley when Kiffin bolted)
In short, UT can hire who they want, how they want, when they want, in this specific case. Hope this helps.

Dooley was terminated on Sunday, today is only Thursday...4 days
The reason I bring that up is Gruden and Dooley are friends, if nothing more than out of respect the time between announcement could be delayed.
If you were terminated from a job and 1 of your friends was hired to replace you, after only 4 days, how would it make you feel towards your friend?
My only concern is that my information regarding HR, which I feel is 100% correct, disagrees with SBV and he is usually very credible.
additionally, i also have a friend that knows someone in the AD, and close to the AD himself (someone who would see an MOU or contract if there was one). So even though I am FULL Gruden, his information conflicts with Boro, Jay, DTO, BCarter, etc.
I just wonder how there can be such a disconnect between what the insiders say here and the AD.
Is the AD blowing smoke? Hart not letting even his closest know the truth? Not trying to be a negative Nancy here, just looking to uncover the truth.

My opinion is the time the job must be posted before filling is the only flexible part of the process. Three interviews must be conducted no matter what but they can be done on the phone. So that shouldn't matter.No SBV reiterated with a backup post that these guidelines aren't steel armor...flexing the rules
You can disagree, but unless you have a source within HR at a state run university, more specifically at UT to provide for a direct rebuttal .......... We will have to agree to disagree.
As soon as I brought it up to my wife I buckled down for what I knew would be a LONG answer, and it was. I just provided a shortened version of the long answer. ID rather be poked in the eye than listen to an HR answer normally btw.
You can believe what you want, but I am confident in what I provided the board.
I see where SBV in the cliff notes is calming down the its happening in the next few days talk. He stated the job had to be opened a certain time by state law.
Did anybody remind him that DD was hired in 4 days?
