there was some discussion about his relationship with the medical team that has been has had long term involvement with his son. forget the reason. something to do with a childhood injury maybe?

his son hit his head on the bleachers when Petersen
was OC,the trainer said not to worry bout the bump unless he started vomiting...well,his son started vomiting, they rushed him to the hospital and found he had cancer around his spinal cord and brain stem...Boise St took care of him in that aspect of it,he's now the coach, his son is about 10 now,so I'd say he is going to be very loyal to Boise St,come hell or high water...

20 years and never have to worry about being run out of town at 2mil per/yr vs 5-10 years of grind at the SEC level at 4mil per/yr...easy decision if ya ask me...

We need to do whatever it takes to get Gruden and reap the rewards. See Alabama as an Example 1.

I'm no Petrino fan, but he's named our coach I guess I'll have to live with it.

Yeah I never liked Dooley from day one but I was forced to either support the Vols or find a new team. There are some who say the will not but will be on his bandwagon after the first big win.

I for one will welcome and support anyone but Dooley at this point.

PEterson is great friends with Wilcox. I'm sorry but I just don't see Wilcox puting in a good word for us.

Petrino I would be inclined to say no. I would say to petrino only if you can get good players to tranfer from arky to tn without NCAA violation

How has the University started to deteriorate? I would agree with the AD having a rough time, but not sure how in your email you can argue the University itself is deteriorating.

Well fiscally the AD is not thriving which in turn allows them to not be able to contribute as much to the school itself.

Secondly in the 4 years Cheek has been at UT our rankings as a school have fallen.

Anyone hear Tony B. strongly hint that Petrino was seen at a local airport yesterday?

I hope (and think) you are right. The cannot be serious about Petrino.

He said something to the effect of "I got a call from a friend at the airport yesterday and he said he saw.....No I'm not even going to go there."

Then a little later he was talking about possible coaches and Petrino came up.
"If people knew what I was told yesterday, it would start a fire in Knoxville."

Just paraphrasing but it was along these lines.

I heard him say that and in thinking about it he may be option #1 after Gruden. He would be available immediately and would be willing to sign a incentive laden contract that would benifit UT.

Sadly, I think it's becoming clearer there are significant impediments to hiring a 'name' coach, let alone someone like JG. Probably the reason we ended up with Derek Dooley in the first place.

Depressing, but as it stands now we're in for a continued period where mediocre is our ceiling both on the field and off.
