Sure i agree but there is a much better way to keep it quiet. Don't tell DD which is where we are IMO.

I gotcha...I see where you are coming from...I just think with all the behind the scenes movement that seems to be happening that Hart would have to sit down with DD and have some concrete discussions about the future. If you let him know what is happening then you can control him some by making some formal agreements with the carrot being the buy out. If you don't let him know he is not being retained and he is left to guess...then you have less control of what he might do or say because nothing has been formally discussed and no agreements reached. Basically, letting Dooley know gives the AD more control than leaving DD floating in the breeze to make assumptions and him possibly making public statements out of frustration.

I know some are sick of this word, but I think you can make an exception for this one:

Just wondering, I may take the kids to the game tomorrow night and wanted to find this out. Not a basketball fan at all, but get tickets thrown at me for about every game and have to be out of the house for a make up party my wife is hosting so what the hell lol.

I feel your pain on the whole basketball thing. Not much of a fan here myself. We have an email drawing for tickets here at work ....so that outta tell ya something. Your little ones may enjoy it though. Something different for them :)

If found out, that would be entirely unprofessional and could be catastrophic. Better to tell him you are pursuing options up front than to keep it from him and let him find out through rumors. Did that with Phil and it was ugly. Glad you and me are not in charge. I would have fired him after Kentucky last year and blown the whole thing up. You would have snuck up behind him with a dagger.

I disagree. I'm no football genius, but I think he disguises things very well because I look at this defense and I have no idea what the #$A^% he's doing.

I agree. Also hearing the ESPN analysts look at a coverage for a specific situation and question why the heck we were doing that there.

On a semi-related not, but doesn't have to do with Gruden directly...

Did anyone hear Jimmy Johnson on the Dan Patrick show yesterday? He was asked it he could go back and coach one of his old gigs what would it be? His response was emphatically Miami Hurricanes and his reasoning was that was the most fun he had coaching. The NFL was such a grind, way more than college, that it took a toll on him.

My reason for mentioning this is that I am HOPING that is also Gruden's thought process. College would satisfy his urge to coach but also be less of a grind than NFL.

:dunno: :crossfingers:

Good point

Can't remember if it was the Troy game or before but we had them backed up to 3rd and goal from like the 25. So obviously all you try to go is keep the play in front of you and force a field goal right? No we are in single safety deep and they throw a post the tight end pretty wide open and our safety tries to make at hit at about the 2 yard line to no avail. As I hear the commentators discuss why the heck we only have 1 safety back in the situation.
