Copied this todays John Adams... interesting quote

In fact, hiring Gruden make so much sense, I would be OK with him bringing along Mike Tirico, his booth buddy on "Monday Night Football," as defensive coordinator. And if they want to coach Saturday's game against Vanderbilt, so much the better.

But suppose, for some bizarre reason, the Gruden-to-Tennessee deal falls through. Then, where would UT athletic director Dave Hart look?

John Adams: If not Jon Gruden, how about Bobby Petrino or Tommy Tuberville? » GoVolsXtra

How bout Tirico take over for Kesling!

All he would have to do is say he knew about it but didn't think everything would get worked out. Then go on to talk about why he disussed other candidates as options.

Or be announced as the new QB coach under Gruden! That would be cool. :)

SIAP, from Basilio's blog "A longtime insider @ UT told me last night that Dave Hart could prove to be a real wild card in this coaching search before it's over.

The Colonel has already illustrated above that Hart doesn't like to be told what to do. His handling of all things Lady Vols proves this. As does his handling of the Bud Ford deal. Hart has been borderline out of control early in his tenure. And this fiercely independent streak of his has been tolerable to big $$$ at this point."

Need to get this dog on a leash. Who does he think he is.

Tennessee Update: Mon., 8:30 a.m.
Derek Dooley will hold his weekly Monday press conference at 12 Noon.

Seems normal enough. Could have sworn it said "not hold.." on the first read. Sorry wishful thinking on my part.

If Dooley has his press conference today then he will remain in place.

Before you ask - I haven't heard anything.

He's already in thin Ice because of Pat

At this point what difference does it make if it is announced this week as opposed to after KY.

Dooley is done!

Better days are coming.

I`m with you! I`m so freakin happy I don`t care if it`s 2 weeks. I know his azz is grazz and that`s all that matters! Gruden or Strong has to wait to accept the job anyway. I`d go ahead and can hin and let Jay Graham be interim. The team would play their tales off for Jay. But Dools is gone, and that`s all I care about today. Go Vols!
