If we end up with Smart, Ill be opening a mattress store near campus.

That's not happening BTW.

This tells me the right people are in charge of the search and have exerted enough pressure on Hart not to screw it up.

I hope this is the case and that as TB said there aren't two concurrent searches going on.

I'll stick with your assertion as I want to believe it more.:)

My job thanks u.. Now i can get some work done.. Jk will still be checking in all day..

Understand....I don't have any new info. Jay doesn't, DTO doesn't, and OldVol doesn't. There likely won't be any.

Nothing I've said has changed from thread 2. If it does, I'll post it.

All of that is exactly what I expected from UT. I also expected that nothing was done with Gruden and that because no other names had been talked about, that most likely UT had not even begun a search for a coach.

Even if Gruden is out there is no way UT hasn't began a search before now. While it may not be an "official search", Hart would be the worst AD in the world if he hasn't started the ball rolling behind the scenes.

Maybe, unless he knows that the next coach will make the fans forget about these last several weeks.

Of course it seems absolutely mind boggling that they would not have said something by now. There are a couple of reasonable explanations. One of which is that they are putting the full-court press on Gruden and do not want to risk messing it up, or maybe they even have a framework in place for his hiring.

An optimist would definitely say that it seems like exactly what Boro and OV and the other folks were saying is taking place.

Being an optimist is the right choice,IMO..Until I have a reason to believe that Gruden will not be our next HC, I believe that he is.Period.

I would agree with you sitting where we are sitting. However if Hart was truly giving Dooley every opportunity to win and keep his job, I can believe that the coaching search did not begin behind the scenes until this Sunday.

If he did. He's truly a fool.

This came from a guy on VQ TFWIW.

espn is looking at options for replacing gruden on mnf.. Could be that it is Gruden going back into nfl next year but word is his last game will be nov.26.

i in no way said his last game being on nov.26 meant he was going to be tennessees head coach. but he has informed espn he is looking at that being the last game. and very good point whoever made it why would he leave mnf early if it was for a nfl job

Wow. Reading Tony B talking points this morning is a little depressing. Tony said he could see hart pulling the rug out from under the big money and hiring someone on his own. Crazy stuff. SIAP.

Perhaps Hart wasn't the one conducting the search.
