Dont see Tennessee getting rid of coach so they can get further behind . I hope but don't see us getting a very big name like a Gruden. Eric Ainge said that Tennessee pursued Gruden but deal feel through. In other words he was saying they are looking at good solid coaches right now. It's hard not to disagree with him he knows way more sources than we do. I hope we do not go too cheap and never get back to being a sec and nationial power again.

They haven't. We've been talking about it for a month. People behind the scenes will tell things to normal people they won't tell the media. And the media won't report rumor without some pretty serious corroboration.

Sorry, yes I realize that. I was referring to the media getting a hold of the story.

Is this not contradicting the fact that everyone is saying Ainge is knowingly reporting a lie.

You can take any set of circumstances and fit them into your theory, whatever your theory is, in this case that Gruden is definitely coming. That's the beauty of a conspiracy theory.

If Dave Hart and Jon Gruden both came out and said Gruden is definitely not coming to UT, this thread would still continue to believe he is.

The only way this thing dies is when a new HC is formally announced. Until then there is no logic that can be used to stop this madness.

That's why you still see TV shows of guys hunting for big foot.

They hear the same things, but the last sentence is key. They can't afford to run with unsubstantiated rumor.....and that is all they are getting right now. The AD is locked up tight. This is not Hamiltons AD.

That's what I think too. I think if it is Gruden and the "average" fan doesn't KNOW anything about Dooley or Gruden. Then when Dooley is gone after UK game then it would only be a few weeks later until MNF is over and he can join. I see this as being the way Hart can keep the transition smooth. But IMO I say when the legal stuff is worked out then announce it put Chaney in as Interim and move on.

so what is Ainge reporting? Rumor, opinion, or source-verified fact?

Or is he covering up?

Or, is he backtracking on his previously unfounded comment that Gruden is coming?
