His team almost beat Florida. Reminds me of Saban but has way more intensity.
Check out this link and tell me you wouldn't want this guy.

You know, from an objective point of view....despite Ainge and others denial, I honestly can see the plausibility of Gruden taking the job where he'd turn most others down.
Not just his TN connections, but this past year he did seem to be "hanging around the punch bowl" a little bit, with his appearance at the coaching clinic....meeting with Dooley for several hours, talking X's and O's. Mentioning in the interview that he'd be interested in coaching again (said he just loves it), and even left open the prospect of coaching in college, if the RIGHT opportunity presented itself...hint, hint.
His skit on Knoxville with the Corona ad (could have chosen dozens of others, more "sexy" than UT).
Plus, in his pre-draft QB coaching videos, he would often use Peyton Manning as a reference to judge these QB prospects by. He kept calling him "The Sheriff." He really likes Peyton....who just so happens to be pitching for us. For this last reason, alone....I'm inclined to like our chances.
Yeah....I was scoffing at the idea of Saban leaving the Dolphins (the owner really liked him) for Bama, of all places. The inbred capital of the world. He is a pipe dream. That's why I hesitated to mention his name.
He is being pitched though, fwiw. Our $$ guys are going to shoot for the stars. What does it hurt.
Well, I guess. But saying Gruden got his start in college is a stretch. He was a grad assistant. That's like saying he got his start in college because he went to college
I'm sorry but the people that let Phil go after SC and also hired Dooley are still a part of this search. We may be missing Mike Hamilton but I doubt he'd have made those moves without their blessing. Best i can tell is they've gotten wiser at this if the rumors are true but that doesn't mean they're perfect.
