Back to the topic at hand. How do you all think the BOT vote will go? We got a shot to get Grudens worries settled by the evening?

Whats with the post in the Cliff Notes thread saying Gruden has already said no because of the make up of the admin at UT?

Another source is claiming that Gruden has reportedly been reaching out to potential assistant coaches in case he plans to return to the sidelines in 2013. It didn't help that a wide-eyed Gruden (knowing him he had likely been up since 3 AM), was surrounded by Eagles fans on a flight out of New Orleans Tuesday morning following that previous night's Eagles-Saints game.

Let's take a step back here people. Yes, it's possible that Jon Gruden wants to get back into coaching again. And it's certainly possible that Andy Reid will be gone in Philadelphia at the end of the season if not sooner. But if Gruden is going to return to Philadelphia, where he served as offensive coordinator under Ray Rhodes in the mid-90s, it's not going to happen anytime before January.

Do you not read any of this thread.... This is information we all have heard......... Why would we need to step back?

Again, Gruden has NOT said NO to us yet? Some big issues to work out, but we are not going to chase him going anywhere but here until he tells us NO

Sure we would have a similar record but that means nothing unless you feel Tennessee and Louisville have equal programs with equal potention.

I think with a decent DC the Vols would beat Louisville this year, why would we want a coach that Dooley could beat?

According to some on here, we may never know. That being said, I wouldn't expect anything till Monday at the earliest. That's my opinion though. Maybe some of our better connected posters will hear something soon.

Louisville and Tennessee's programs aren't created equal. Not even close. What strong has done there is excel to the programs ceiling. Would you want our next coach to take us to our ceiling???

Please... I only thing I have read that implys that is from what Bcarter posted... But Lex (not rex) says we are still on Gruden.... so does Gman, Boro etc.... where did get this smoke?? Not a challenge .. but I have read this thread very closely... so where do you get that

What fan would not want their HC to take their team to ne heights and to the ceiling? IMO I can't see Strong being the guy that can do that.

Larry has said that the interest from Gruden has cooled. His post yesterday stated big money was there but I saw nothing stating anything changed in his opinion with gruden.

As far as programs not being created equal, Louisville has been more relevant the past 4 years than the Vols have.

Strong would have been a better hire than Dooley.... when we hired Dooley. Now I want someone who is not a stepping stone to a championship, but someone who will bring us a championship

Even bcarter's post isn't that discouraging to me. He says the money was good but control issues came up. Well, maybe those control issues can be at least worked toward resolution to show Gruden we are serious about football again.

And as I have stated numerous times that means nothing at all. Hart doesn't want to say anything that could be misinterpreted as a vote of confidence for DD and JG loves his name being out there. It's good for business for JG.

True Gman, but it was in the Big East. I like Strong, but not at this time. Getting a team to the top of the Big East if a lot different than the top of the SEC. We have, what, 5 teams in the top 15?

I think we have a chance just like you do but I am fully prepared to look past JG and say there are other great options
