ESPN radio guys in Fayetteville Arkansas are talking about the opening now. They just said if Jon Gruden goes anywhere in college football, it will be to UT lol. Apparently the radio guys are not as confident as the guys in the forums ha ha.

Jimmy "I have no sources anymore" Hyams just said that he was told Gruden did discuss the job with UT but he wanted a 10 yr guarantee/$5 million per and $4 million for his assistants. Hyams then said "and Tennessee isn't going to pay that kind of money".

I don't know if he was told that or it's his assumption.

If this is true and we don't pay him, there better be a riot.

My brother called me flipping out saying campus was electric with Gruden talk. I called BS, but the same thing seems to be happening here.

Rumors about sightings and done deals.

He even claimed he thought he saw him.

Also a weird one about it being a done deal and Gruden pressuring the AD to go ahead and announce it because his family is sick of the speculation.

I need some answers people :)

If people saw him there would pictures. Like the dude on the flight.

LOL!

that forum was not created just to discuss Gruden. It was a convenient excuse though

I seriously doubt that Gruden was on campus with as quiet as he has been. Arkansas people are psycho and even their insiders believe it is not Gruden. Gruden controls the time frame, but the one thing I gather is his time frame is not Wednesday, November 14th...TIFWIW.

Well I believe him when it says it's on the tip of everyone's tongue around campus. He says it feels like a balloon that's about to pop.

That's all we can ask for after last week's crickets I suppose.

How much was Kiffin's staff?

Anybody noticing the local media isn't talking anybody but Gruden.. Ainge, Tony (pretty much the whole show), and now Hyams.. I get the game for ratings but one would assume if there's actually nothing there they would quit talking about it..

He was spotted on the strip eating some jerky...wrong sighting, my bad

Probably from 2009.

..and lets say Ainge is right and Gruden is not coming here....and the process is further along than he can talk about...his words.....then WHY has not one other coach gotten any traction? Something would have leaked that we were negotiating with someone else. We always return to Gruden. EVEN the media that says it isn't going to be him only talks about him. I'm having a hard time trying to determine if it is wishful thinking on my part or deductive reasoning that Jon Gruden is the next coach of our Tennessee Volunteers. Probably a little of both!

Funny how everyone was jucied when the original grudges said last night it is finished and now folks are in need of a xanax. Trust in the process............oh, not the best phrase.

I hate to even validate the Arkansas "thing" with a response, but if they were announcing a new head coach today, then word of a press conference would be widespread by now, 2:30 local time. I cannot find a single mention anywhere at all about any press conference concerning the University of Arkansas.

So if they are planning on the announcement, apparently the AD wishes to do so Clint Eastwood style.

Gruden is the smokescreen.
