On top of what OldVol, Jay, DTO, Lex, SBV, Gman, and Orange Slice have said? These guys are solid in my book. Gman and OS were originally skeptics, mind you.

- what Hubbs said regarding Gruden's staff having a Tennessee feel to it. Also what he said regarding Gruden contacting Kevin Steele. Also, Hubbs saying that those close to him said that if the right offer were made, it would be hard to turn down.

Hubbs plays it close to the vest. He doesn't go out there without something solid. The fact that he even mentions a "staff with a Tennessee feel" tells me that Gruden has been making calls. That is something that wouldn't be done unless Gruden were serious.

- The stuff that just doesn't make sense otherwise. Hart holding onto Dooley so long without comment, while other schools are getting a jump on the coaching search. You may say that there might be a done deal with Kirby Smart. I would counter that Hart can't be that stupid. The fans wouldn't go for it. The boosters wouldn't go for it. The phase of hiring a coach on the cheap and hoping it works out is over. We look at Bama and see that you get what you pay for.

Throw onto that all the other anecdotal things from former Vols who have worked with or played for Gruden, his love for the University and the area, and I believe.

Think about the example of calipari & ky basketball. $ is irrelevant if you get the right guy. Right coach =recruits=wins=big $ for the university

Posts like this make me yearn for November 26th . . . or shortly thereafter.

If they're looking for an OC like that, then he needs to be a good recruiter, which Chaney is not.

That being said, if Gruden wants to keep Chaney, then i'm all for it, I trust his judgement. Our offense is putting up stats, but I don't think that it's playing up to its full potential. The biggest issue I see with Chaney as a "passenger" OC, is his lack of recruiting ability. If Gruden were really running the whole offense, then Chaney would seem like dead weight to me due to his recruiting. At least get someone on the payroll that will hit the road and recruit while Gruden coaches up the offense.

Not really, outside of the NFL analyst who said he thought Gruden could end up at the University of Tennessee on DC radio.

The Hubbs info is from late October/early November, before things got hushed up.

Ohhh ok. Just wondering. Things really did quiet down. Hoping for the best godfatha. Listened to the podcast and just trying to hold on.

Any insiders heard anything regarding Gruden speaking to Clemson OC Chad Morris? He makes $1.3 million right now, so it'll be an expensive hire. They are #7 in total offense though.

Don't get me wrong, I do take away positive vibes from what La Canfora said, however, when I lived in DC, he was the Skins beat writer and was known as Jason La CantReporta. Also, had an unhealthy obsession with Leigh Torrence. Trolled skins fans.

However, he was obviously doing something right if he was offered a job as a national reporter with NFL network.

Great time to be a Tennessee Vol. Just think of the excitement next season when all of this falls into place in a few weeks. I maybe disappointed if for some reason it falls through, but heck life is full of disappointments. Just look at the past seven years of UT football. Keep your heads up! Better days are just around the corner and that light at the end of the tunnel is the G Train!!
