That's really cool. I wish there was a way we could chip in and cover his tab. I always hate to see a serviceman buying his own drinks, but I suspect you'll see that he is appropriately taken care of.

If Jake let every serviceman in Colorado Springs drink for free, I suspect he would be out of business. But, I doubt there are many that are fellow Vol fans.

Lucky you. I'm positive it won't be Gruden. Too many reliable posters say its not.

If Gruden takes a college job and it's not Tennessee, Hart should be fired.

Especially if we end up with Al Golden or Kirby Smart. I could see ticket sales plummeting even more after the first couple of losses and I doubt it takes long to lose a couple games under those guys.

Also, I wasn't necessarily suggetsting jake would pick up his tab, just that he would be able to make sure he had a good time.

Your point is still apt though.

Not me, but then again I do not hang my optimism or pessimism on forum posters I do not know in real life. If the only place I hear these things is here then I would agree with you regardless of the other account.

But there are two sides or more to everything. We will see who is right. I firmly believe we are and the reason is the info those I trust on here does not come from the AD who has a LOT at stake in keeping it under wraps. When this goes down, if it goes down like I expect it to, I think Hart will proved to have been excellent at controlling the flow of information in this process of hiring the "Face of Football in America". A little more detailed than a Dooley or a Kiffin hire, and prone to all sorts of problems if information gets out. Gruden gets embarrassed by a leaky AD and its over. See Hamilton for reference lol.
They have been in damage control for two weeks.

All right, stop whatcha doin cause ima bout ruin, the image and the style that's ya used too...

Morning all! It's game day! Woke up to a text confirming Cindy G was at Webb this week but "we're not supposed to tell"! Same txt said other friend at bar has direct ties to 1 of the KEY boosters & this friend asked booster flat out if there's a chance at Gruden & was told no chance. Since we know there's been some talk, I believe this is just further confirmation that Gruden is coming ...& bringing hell with him! (as Jay said!)

That's the only thin that scares me anymore about this whole deal...an embarrassment.

Having said that, bcarter, or anyone else for that matter....do y'all think all this social media can do or has done damage to the process?

Actually...my policy is, if you have military ID + drivers license (or leave papers), your first drink is on the house...period.

Seems like right now, we've got this 12lb bass hooked up and all the way to the boat...hoping he doesn't come unbuttoned right as you reach down to land him.

They have been in damage control for two weeks.

We may not end up getting Gruden, but just looking at how things have transpired the last week makes me believe that we are close. I am inclined to believe boro, ov, jay, etc that there is an MOU which is pretty much the end of it, but all we can do is hope that it is true.

I am certain that if an MOU has been signed, then there must be a confidentiality provision which would kill the deal. There will be some hurt feelings at the end of this by people who trust other people, but I hope that everyone can realize that any mis-information is for the greater good.

First, both of the bolded statements are huge unsubstantiated claims. I won't necessarily argue that common folks getting access to stock wasn't part of the problem, but I'm not ready to point to that as the single factor that caused the crash. Second, why is the first reaction always to look to the government for some sort of regulation to impose on market?

It's man's natural instinct to look to a higher authority when in doubt. Religion, government, it's all a natural development of the human mind (btw, I am a Christian). As to support the so called "unsubstantiated" claims, let me give an example: if you have a city with a full economy, and then give a stock market that publicly allows access to information on every business in the city, you doom yourself, but why? The reasoning is that if everyone has the same information, most will reach the same conclusion. So when a sell starts, eventually everyone falls in line and sells as well, because no one wants to lose their stock in falling companies, and so you cause a market freefall. Market crashes, and your economy is in shambles for the foreseeable future. The only way to have a true FME is to not have a stock market and remove the government completely in money matters. This also causes problems with the government being able to project power, because hiking taxes to support themselves enough to appropriately defend the country will cause a severe class gap to open. The sacrifice of the TRUE FME is a natural economic evolution. The problem afterwards being, what is the next step in the evolution process? But I digress, we could go forever debating this topic.

Maybe Lex or one of the others can answer this. Is Gruden a diva or are there legitimate reasons he cannot look interested right now?

BTW, if Mrs. Gruden was indeed looking at schools, you can count this deal as done. Mr. Gruden cannot build his wife's hopes to moving home up that high and then afford to pull the rug out from under her. Married guys and gals on here will understand.
