Gruden could certainly call plays. He have met with C. Morris and like how he plans games or his playcalling, etc. I really don't know, but there are some reasons.I am likely ignorant about this, but why pay that amount for Chad Morris when Gruden will call plays? Would Gruden not call plays? I would think Jeremy Bates or Jay Graham as OC with Gruden calling plays would be a good option
This is my first negative thought concerning Gruden, but here goes anyway: if he is actually going to bend us over a barrel for staff salaries, I don't want him here. If he loves UT and wants to be our coach I would expect him to not act like a mercenary. That said, I doubt these numbers are fact. If however they are, I want results and I want them quickly with ZERO excuses tendered for the failure to achieve them.

Man...I don't see it that way, with all due respect. This is the kind of deal I see going in the direction that, yes Gruden is going to lobby for his stuff to maximize opp. But he's also hot to be telling UT that...look these guys are the best in the business. We know each other. We agree on coaching philosophies. We agree on style. That's what I need to be sucessful.
If I were him, that's wht I'd be saying.
Or we could go with a Dooley-esk situation mad have a revolving and bolting staff??
So in the end, I bet the negotiation becomes somewhere in the middle...leaning to the Gruden side...with some long term agreements to create stability.
Everyone gets what they want!!!
