It helps my ego if I can still appear reserved and rational while the rest of the world gives in to their emotions.

Deep down, I have a full on Grude. Like the famous Phoebe Cates swimsuit scene from Fast Times at Ridgemont High, I use the word IF in the same way Judge Reihnholdt's character had to scream out "Don't you ever knock?!" when he got "caught".

I was a Dooley supporter too, but certainly in favor of Gruden and hope that we can land him. So, this doesn't have to be and shouldn't be a polarization of the fan base between Dooley and Gruden supporters.

An earlier poster wrote that this needs to be a statement hire and I agree wholeheartedly. It needs to be a statement to the fan base that the administration is committed to re-establishing UT to SEC and national prominence. The rest of the college football world would also be able to ascertain the impact of a Gruden hire.

It's not that I doubt Boro, Lex, Gman, BCarter, et al...

...anyone who's been apart of ANY negotiation can tell you that there are always bumps in the road that must be overcome. I have little doubt that a deal will be agreed upon, but until an official announcement is made, I will remain cautiously optimistic.
