Official Jon Gruden Thread VIII

The Eagles today reminded me of the Dooley-coached Vols . . . that team, while loaded with enough talent to win AT LEAST 8 games, has completely quit on Reid.

The difference is Reid can obviously coach to some extent, Doolz can't.

Just a purely speculative question, but does anyone think that the fanbase refuses to believe that Gruden is the guy because of how low this program has sunk. You stand back and look at things (big picture) we are a lot better off IMO than we were when we hired Dooley.

Hart subtly hinted at a 'bidding war' with Arkansas during the press conference.

As a matter of fact, he referenced the Gruden situation at least 4 times without even being asked.

If I were Hart, I would say "Arkansas offered you how much? Well then you should take it."

Because whatever the number is, it won't ever result in Jon Gruden coaching at Arkansas.

Simple fact is simple.

Alright would you all rather:
A.) Have Hart announce Jon Gruden next week following the Kentucky game
B.) Have Jon Gruden make the announcement himself on MNF in Nashville Dec 17

Been very busy ALL day. Catch me up brother? Any developments I need to know about?

Well nothing concrete but Boro did say he's certain and a lot of links posted from media outlets saying Tennessee could be where he lands. I have a feeling this week is gonna be crazy now that the job is publicly open. Fingers crossed brutha!! :crossfingers:

This is why he's been putting a staff together. Have them in place before he accepts and once he does, they're on the recruiting trail. It's all falling into place!

I just wonder if there isn't some conflict of interest with him doing color commentary for MNF and being an official college head coach. Seems like you would really have to watch what you say all the time for violations. JMO, but I would think he would want to separate himself from the booth if named coach. Maybe I'm way off base

A, so I can finally stop reading these threads until 3am, then regret not choosing B because of how effing awesome that would be.

Hurdles to clear (have been cleared) with the reserve and Cheek to be able to afford our new coach.

You can find the other subtle things in the video yourself.

Only violation would be mentioning recruits by name.

For sure MNF in front of millions of people and recruits watching. Although that would probably never happen in my opinion
