We both know that anything is possible, I just think we live in an age where people of all walks communicate in places like VN and whether he wants to or not, when things like a signed MOU are being discussed, he has to find a way to address them without addressing them.
I don't think it is possible to issue a blanket "plausible deniability" statement.
Whatever the case, that statement was for somebody specific.
This and Hart saying "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing" made me feel very good about Gruden being our guy. Would today not have been a perfect time to say "we are not go after Jon Gruden" if in fact they are not going after Jon Gruden?? It has not been denied one time during this whole deal.
Uhhhh... as I said, I thought this was a thread for discussing the pro/cons of a Gruden hire. I have NEVER said we would never amount to anything, I just happen to disagree with the premise that JG would instantly make us prominent.
Last year. Hopefully Gruden would not base taking this job on Morris coming or not.
Then you're ignorant. With just the mention of Gruden, top athletes are looking at UT.

Yeah I wouldn't think so either.

Of course not but I did find it very odd he went the extra step. After saying he has had no contact with any coach(which was sufficient to make his point that the boosters may have), he went on to say that no back channelling had taken place either. I found that part odd since it went a step farther.
Here's the thing that gives me some comfort. If anybody knows the pain a buyout can cause to the team having to pay it...It Is Jon Gruden.
If you love UT and are aware of her finances, you don't ask for this because it hurts the institution too much. Well, it hurts nothing to ask, but that's a lot to EXPECT. jmo
I certainly would think it wouldn't matter that much. To my knowledge he has no history with Morris. A few posters seem to be implying that the timing of the announcement is important because of Morris but he wouldnt have nothing to do with that IMO either way
