Whats the latest Gruden to TN info folks. Need my fix.

Here's the low down. Few people are giving out times and dates of an announcement. If I were you I'd dismiss them and just wait and see. Also some unconfirmed mystery sources are saying Gruden is studying film. Nobody knows where that info is coming from. And nobody knows if he's actually studying college film. Remember this is a hobby to him. He study's film and prepares for each game on Monday night, but don't tell that to a few board members. They will get mad and attack you for having typos or throw rocks. Oh and someone last night posted pictures of how to build a big ass cartoon character. It was epic. :). Typical Monday.

If Ainge says a 10% chance now, then that is an infinite % increase from his 0% last week. Sounds like our chances are getting infinitely better to get Gruden!!! (not that we need it since Gruden WILL WEAR ORANGE in 2013!!)

Well when you remove the head coach anything is possible. :)

A guess for a timeline would be around the SECcg. Perhaps the Friday prior. Again, that is a guess with no solid base.

Sorry to go off topic a bit, but I really don't want to bother asking this in the football forum. You folks are much more palatable.

If we lose to Kentucky, won't it be the first time in UT history they have 8 losses in a season? By my checking, this is the case.

Let's hope these boys play for Chaney.

If any of you 'newcomers' to these of Jon Gruden threads, here is a list of the OG, the ones who first spoke of Gruden coming to UT. Giving credit where credit is due.

And on the other hand, if it is a massive, well devised, calculated and incredibly elaborate troll job, then here is a list of the OG, the ones who first spoke of Gruden coming to UT. :)

Correct. One of only two schools that claim this distinction. Think Ohio State is the other but not sure.

We've acomplished a few of those over the last three years.

Guys at this point it is all about everyone sticking to what has been agreed upon and delivering what was promised.

1.) Our Admin has to provide the funding support that it has told Hart it would up to this point. It needs to remain on board with a high profile, high paid coach. There can't be any last second hesitation from the Chancellors office. Good thing we are now working with the Assistant Chancellor with prior AD experience. I don't think this will be an issue anymore.

2.) Our boosters have to still come through with the funding backing that they have promised Hart they could provide. No booster can pull a funding offer or try and short change Gruden. That will kill the deal. I think our Boosters want Gruden enough and want TN football to be repaired enough that this won't happen.

3.) Gruden can't come back with any extra added stipulations. If there already is agreed upon terms with just some minor details to be ironed out, which I now believe to be the case, then Gruden can't go for some last minute nibbles at the end of the negotiation. At this point if our Admin and Boosters feel like they have already stretched themselves to an extreme level for Gruden, one extra added stipulation could kill the whole deal. This is the part of the equation I am worried about.

Gruden is famous for getting very close to deals and something happening last minute to cause it to not happen. He has a very good BATNA (negotiating term) in his ESPN gig. He can always pull the "well if you don't give me what I want, I have 100 job offers and this cushy job to fall back on so I am fine if you don't give me EVERYTHING I want."

Any last minute additions or request could be a problem...hopefully every single semi major detail has been agreed upon in principle so this won't be an issue.

This is why I believe at this point we will hear sooner than later, because there probably won't be much negotiation left. It is either everyone follow through with what was promised or someone backs out.

This has been my concern all along...not that people here haven't posted correct info, but that Gruden could have a change of heart towards the end of the process...
