My father-in-law (who is a Michigan fan) and my brother-in-law (who is a Florida fan) told me yesterday that UT was never nationally relevant to the football scene. They said this when I said I wanted a coach to get us back to relevancy.

Tennessee is one of 11 BCS National Champions. I think that is pretty darn relevant, agree?

What's the Vols record against Michigan again?

Yes, I would think that winning a BCS Championship would qualify someone as being relevant.

You should have that conversation again over the holidays after an announcement. Should be interesting.

I totally agree with a new forum after all of this is over.

I barely make a peep most of the time, but these thread were worth it just to have the name Brother Balls stuck on me when I bought in...(around III or IV I think).

Absurd. Historically, we're (almost) as relevant as the 9 others of the top ten winningest programs of all times. Currently, we're not relevant, but times, they are a changin'.

Ask him how irrelevant were we when we whipped that ass in the bowl game...

Yeah, I'll tell you who's been all kinds of relevant is Michigan. What, since they lost to Appalachian State in 2007 after being national title contenders, they've gone 3-9, 5-7, 7-6, then got into the Sugar Bowl last year which was nice. Then they got all this hype again and were exposed for the mediocre team they are. And this is in an absolutely dreadful Big Ten.

Yup. Michigan is just fantastic. How many BCS titles do they have compared to Tennessee?

May be late to the party on this one but I don't have time read back through all the posts from today. I heard Tony B say on his show that he has seen photographic evidence that Gruden is coming. I assume he is either talking about seein a contract or the MOU that has been talked about so much.

Chucky Claus is coming to town!!

.

To the tune of “Here comes Santa Claus”
Here comes Gruden Claus,
Here comes Gruden Claus,
Right down VolWalk Lane,
Strolling with his winning team and all his football staff
Pullin' on the reins.
Bells are ringin', fans are singin',
All is merry and bright.
So hang your stockings and say your prayers,
'Cause Gruden Claus is coming…alright!
As he shouts Merry Christmas to all my grudenites and to all a good life!
