Okay that makes absolutely zero since when there are plenty of others sources saying that there have at least been talks between the two parties.

1. The biggest hoarder of inside info in history
2. A troll trying to get more listeners
3. A media member who was told by the AD to cool the Grumors
4. An idiot

5. All of the above.

I have been wondering this for weeks. Didn't Saban say at a press conference a few weeks before it was announced that he would't be the next head coach at Alabama?

Actually, Alabama's AD hired Rich Rodriguez and 48 hrs. later had to come up with a story saying the deal fell through after the boosters overrode the hire. He was told who he was hiring (Saban) and how much the deal was for.

What he'll do is have a whole story about how "things changed" very shortly before it's announced. And his followers will forget all about the previous month of him dancing around the questions and ibacktracking on his statements. Everyone will be too excited and overjoyed with the fact Jon F'n Gruden is the new UT HC to care about being strung along. IMO

When he starts retracting, the end is near..let us know when he starts changing his tune..3-4days maybe

I wonder if we are on course for a "civil war" of sorts like that here? If so, what happens to Hart?

Did I just see a commercial for a TV show called "Amish Mafia"???

Time to put down the gentleman jack and go to bed.

Hope you members of the Night's Watch steer is back to a more positive tone in regards to Gruden.

Gruden is already in Philly and will be until after the game Monday night. Any announcement would have to be a press release followed by a statement on MNF.

It is amazing at how completely, 180-degrees different the stories are between the Knoxville media and the "inside information" shared on this board. They really could not be any further than one another.

For the side that proves to be wrong in all of this, it would be interesting to see how that story got so far off the tracks.

If it is done and finalized it will be announced within a week. If it has been kept under wraps it was out of respect for the team finishing out the season this week.

I guess that's plausible. It makes more sense than Hart wanting it to look like it was all him. Because if he announced it tonight, he would get the credit from the majority of the fanbase cause he is the one that will announce it in the presser and he has the title of AD.

I agree!!! We can't take any chances. I thing we'll be okay even if we don't get Gruden. Too much is at stake to mess this up.

I have 0 faith in Hart. After this last hire theres no reason to have any faith.I know he didnt hire Dooley but he was fighting for him until the end.
Gruden isnt the only coach out there that can bring Tn back to where we need to be but he could surely jump start it like no other coach. But bring in Smart,Mullen,Golden,Dykes and you can lock the doors on Neyland. jmo.

Has any one of the national media people that said that Gruden might come here changed their story since Wednesday? If they have I have not heard them. Nor has our guys changed their story. Only local media has gone really negative these last couple of days.

Why would Gruden want to burn a bridge by surprising ESPN? If a deal has been done, ESPN already knows about it due to his present contract.

What do you mean by "due to his present contract"? Not being snobby, I'm seriously asking. I don't know much about his present contract. You don't think that Gruden would make a deal with Tennessee without talking to ESPN first?

What happened with the MOU?

I thought that if that paper is signed it basically means Gruden will come.

Now, if he DID signed and Gruden wants to back out or give the impression he wants something changed... I can see why "the boosters" would cool off.

That would mean that ALL parties would be pissed off with Gruden.

I agree. I don't think hubbs has a clue about the coaching search. My point was he isn't a puppet of the AD and that was proven by his reporting of DD being fired before they were ready to announce it or before he was correct. Either way he didn't announce it at the direction of the AD which DTO said he was under

I never said he announces anything at the "direction" of the AD. Only that he isn't going to report the whole truth without the blessing of the AD. He will serve as a mouthpiece for the AD at times as well. Seriously, if you don't want to believe me, that's fine. My job isn't to convince you.
I'm sure you think the world is all black and white, but the fact is, Hubbs isn't going to kill his golden goose. He makes a TON of money working very little.
Do you know how he got all his info during the Fulmer years?

Maybe because the people that pay for Brent's site are mainly interested in recruiting?

I for one hope we don't have another coaching search for at least 10-15 years.

Plus all Hubbs has to do wake up tomorrow and say he has heard things have picked back up. Then boom! It's all good
