I hope I am wrong but I got a feeling that theres going to be a lot of disappointment when Hart announces Tn next coach. Hart is probably shopping at the same flea market that Hammy was shopping at when he found Dooley on sale.
Hart has to hit a grand slam or Tn will takes Vandys and Ky place for years to come.UTs future is at stake with this hire.

Hope he bought a shovel at the flea market. Going to need a good one to dig this grave for our football program.

I agree!!! We can't take any chances. I thing we'll be okay even if we don't get Gruden. Too much is at stake to mess this up.

Thanks for improving my mood, as I reached for the "off" button on the computer.

Hubbs most recent, long statement comes across as a guy who has been fed a load of bs from the AD in order for Hart to look like he is controlling this thing rather than the "third party contact" that Hubbs refers to numerous times....JMO, but it appears to me it is being dragged along so that Hart can make sure that his stamp is officially on this and no one else takes/gets the credit.

I'm not sure how that question goes with my statement. I have seen nothing by any of those guys that addresses Hubbs statements. I do believe that they have been told exactly what they are posting and that they have faith that it is true.

Hubbs and Co. have a job to do. A major part of that job is to make their employer happy, just like everyone else. Their employer is the UTAD. Hiring and firing of coaches takes a really healthy portion of public relations. There's a timeline that needs to happen through all of this. If Hubb's is aware who the new coach will be and shares that information to his subscribers before his boss wants him to he will find himself out of a job soon after. Does that make sense? So he needs to dodge questions, tell stories and wait it out until the time is right, per his bosses.

I'll give you an example. There was a recruit who announced for UT a few months back (I forget who it was) and VQ had made a video well in advance of his commitment before telling anyone that this would happen. So, guys like me were on VQ asking, "Is so and so going to be a Vol?" And Hubbs and co. would respond with, "Not really sure. It looks good but only time will tell. Blah blah blah" Meanwhile they had already made a video of that recruit's verbal announcement to UT. And waited until the recruit wanted them to release it.

I believe the same thing is going on here with "the coaching search".

Per Hubbs, Dave Hart has not spoken to Gruden & doesn't plan on speaking to him. He is NOT an option as HC.

All of this talk about a deal being in place ect is all Booster driven & Hart has nothing to do w/ it.

What gives?

All this wet blanket stuff came out just hours after Wednesday night when it looked like the lid was about to blow off. I for one don't believe any media member is knowingly apart of any smokescreen but they are reporting what they are being told and I believe that is all coming from AD. Seems really odd that that night the OG's were hearing that something had been finalized and it couldn't possibly be kept under raps that then media members from Hyams, Hubbs to Basilio say its a no go. Maybe they are right but the timing was odd.
