I hope this does not drag out. I think they gave Hart the big credit card . Whoever he hires if it is not Gruden will have the stigma "it's not Gruden." I worry about that now.

Personally, I don't think Hart had anything to do with it...Boosters saving the day here...they know this is a huge crossroads for UT football...they aren't gonna let someone that's been on the job for 13 months call the shots...BIG MONEY TALKS.

I think that's harts goal, but if the big guys we want don't want to coach here then what else can you do?
My fears are the same...Go back into Tennessee history and tell me how many big name coaches other than those that had roots with the program have been hired?? Majors had roots and the big name from Pitt with the NCAA tittle. They know it's extra difficult for recruiting. Got to build a national pipeline. Also they never want to pay the Saban level pay when they got to.

Caught up on this thread this morning. I wonder if Gruden doesn't sign with us how many of you will still defend these so-called insiders? While I am sure a 'snag' will be blamed will you buy that? Will you attack them like you attacked anyone who was spoken out that there is chance this is not a done deal? Honestly you should blame yourself because you are the sheep that followed them and gave fuel to the fire of lies. How many Smiths, Shannons, or Grudens for you to stop drinking the kool-aid on here?

Now Gruden could be the hire in the end, and I'm not saying he will not. What I am saying is this thread is suffering from the same phenomenon as Grudenville. Your desire to believe overrides everything else.

Thanks for the lecture. If you feel this is a fools paradise, the exit is to the left. I choose to believe until there is a reason not to, have a good day.:hi:

Lovie Smith

Weeeeeeell, come on now. You have to call it a stretch to say that Lovie came from the Fulmer tree.

Just because he spent time at UT doesnt mean he was groomed and learned all his football from Fulmer.

Lovie was at half a dozen places before UT and a bunch after UT.

I say there is nobody out there in big time football that owes their career to Fulmer.

I don't know that any of them have "left" this thread. Most have popped up from time to time. They all probably lurk a fair amount.

Plus, it's a holiday weekend.

I been saying this for awhile. Last time I said it I was lectured on how it was a fact 100% that Gruden has signed with us in not such a nice way.

And?

How do you know it's not 100% done?

Have we signed another coach? Has Gruden declined?

The season just ended yesterday. Patience is a virtue. I've been at it around here for months, I can speak on that.
