That would be when UTAD tells us who it is. At that point it's a legal contract

I spoke to a friend of mine yesterday who said that UT's admissions criteria (for a football player) are higher than Vanderbilts right now. Is this true? If so, our standards are unreasonable if we wish to be competitive in the SEC.

I thought this is one of the "obstacles" that was being eliminated for this whole process to move forward..

If they interpreted a signed MOU (which is worth little more than a handshake) as a done deal, then I don't know what to say about their intelligence.

To be fair "100 percent done deal " should have never been put out and allowed to spread roots. Just that a MOA is in the works with Gruden and it looks good would have been less permanent

But you have to remember that is SOP. Most coaches end up working under an MOU for a substantial amount of time until a contract is worked out. An MOU would be the natural progression for Gruden or any coach for that matter.

If you manage a company and you have experience to actually execute the vision...but an egotistical power from above is constantly looking over your shoulder...and you have other lucrative job offers...

Would you take the job anyway, try to hang in there til something gives, or bolt to another well developed and less egotisctical situation?

Ask yourself that question

The snags you mentioned seem reasonable and Hart and Cheek need to really think long and hard about letting a coach of this magnitude slip out of their grasp.

IMO the snags he is trapped in are too important to a coach at his level to flex with. I believe that he needs what he is asking for.
