Devil's Advocate: Is that any different from the gleeful excitement that the people on here who swore he was coming would exhibit had their information proven true?

I doubt it.

We have two camps. One basically said there is no way it happens. The other saying it has been a "done deal" for months.

One side was bound to end up right. The other side was bound to be wrong. Both basically basing their statements on their best information.

The ones of us who trusted anonymous internet posters were the ones who (again) end up looking like the fools. To be clear, I direct no ill will towards anyone. I do believe most people on both sides, who claimed to have information, totally believed what they conveyed. I can't fault them for that.

Harigs says he knew that every other media outlet would write that there is no deal today. Hargis says he knows from a 20 year SEC coaching veteran and from a second source that JG wants to be the UTK head coach and the only hangup is assistants' salaries. Not backing down.

Stephen Hargis was just on WGOW 102.3 Sportstalk with Gary Haskew. He used two sources, both from the Gruden camp, and also had a third source that was not used. He says his info is solid. Gruden wants to coach at UT and has a staff set up and ready. The only holdup was a wide gap in what UT is willing to pay the assistants and what Gruden wants. One source thought the deal would go through as close as both parties were as of last night. He said his article does not conflict with LaMonte's comments. He said that LaMonte is an attorney and check his words carefully. He thinks the deal is not dead yet.

Other than oddballs like VolReporter, what people have been posting are things like "Based on what my contacts have told me, I'm 100% sure that it's a done deal."

They have every right to post their beliefs or opinions, and no one forced you to read their posts or believe what they wrote.

I hate to say, but I've read alot on here and there's been several more than said volreporter who claimed 100% done deal. Even last night there were several who said 100% for sure press conference today to announce gruden, and since he has come out again and said no, today they are saying 100% smokescreen? Not hating just a fact.
