Seems butch Davis is the new name floating around. Even though he claims to be squeaky clean, he's had violations follow him everywhere he goes. Not sure a team on probation wants to draw the extra attention to the program that the butch Davis would bring.

he also was suppose to have a meeting today to be cleared by NCAA of any wrong doing in regards to UNC fiasco

Would rather have fulmer back then: butch davis, al golden, jimbo fisher.

What if you did put "the band" back together at least in part for 3 yrs. Fulmer HC for 3 yrs and then Chavis as coach in waiting. Tee Martin and Jay Graham on staff???...nah...don't see Hart doing that.

We must Focus...SOON.

won't be buying season tickets if al golden, fisher, butch davis, any of these other scrubs are announced. get your sh*t together Hart.

I just saw the pic BCarter posted at 1235pm in the last thread. No offense intended, as I respect BCarter as one of the most believable/reliable posters in this thread series.
But, I do not see anything in the picture that could not be set up on a few minutes notice. I also do not know how this room normally looks. It's possible that a student employee decided to have some fun with everyone by snapping a pic of this room and sending it out on the Internet.

All I see is one tripod in front of the UT/Verizon background.

Legit photo. Locker room is really set up for a press conference. Couldn't get confirmation of when except probably next week.

Assuming a negotiation is really underway, there's no way it's about the money. UT Admin knew he'd be top shelf money before they made the first call.

Further, it's one of the first discoveries you make in any hiring discussions. If the money isn't agreeable, the rest of the discussions are pointless.

The only way there is any merit to this is if JG just doesn't want to do it, and he's decided to price-walk Hart.

"According to a source who spoke to someone with knowledge of the situation, Gruden's salary figure was higher than Alabama coach Nick Saban – who is the highest paid college football coach in today's market." - Kevin Ryan

A "source who spoke to someone..."? Sounds like, "My brothers, friends, cousin..."

I feel like if Gruden wasn't interested or Hart wasn't interested then they would say they weren't interested. Gruden had no bones about telling Arkansas no thanks. I think if Hart weren't interested or didn't want to fool with a big name coach, he would have put that to bed immediately as to not create unrealistic expectations among fans, alumni, and boosters.

I have ZERO sources, but my guess is that negotiations are ongoing. I think they've been negotiating for a while. If negotiations fail, we will never hear about it from the university. They will simply hire another coach and maintain that coach was their target all along.

And to those purporting this idea that Hart won't hire anyone without meeting them face to face, I think that's false. One word: Skype. Sure it doesn't have the same effect as face to face, but it's much better than a phone interview. You pretty much know what you're getting with Gruden, talk to any number of NFL personnel and I think you will get an idea of what it's like to work with him.

Folks, let's be patient, it took Bama from the last week of November until the first week in January to land Saban. You won't a big time "winner", we are going to have to fight it out. The longer this goes (without Gruden becoming either an NFL Head Coach or getting an extension from ESPN), the better we are. Still 100% Gruden

How much time passed from the day Saban made his famous denial to the day try hired him??y Bama friend said about a month...I don't recall exactly.

Didn't Saban get hired 3-4 day after his last game at Miami was complete?

Man, the locals are getting restless...you know what I'm going to do? Go get a beer, have some dinner, and have some quality time with the missus. There hasn't been one concrete thing come out today (or yesterday for that matter) for anyone to change their mind either way. I'm sticking with the OGs and still believe Gruden is our guy. None of the others make logical sense. Hart being laxidasical makes no sense unless we have our guy already wrapped up.

On another note, I think it would be fun to grab a brew with all the Knoxville local Grudenites at some point...

Do you guys realize how hard it is living down here in Alabama and having to hear "Roll Damn Tide" every time I turn around? All these clowns think we will be lucky to get a 2nd tier coach and that we will never be a threat to them again. It makes me sick.

Yes i do, i live in Huntsville!

This surprises Kevin that his salary demands would be more than Satan's?
