The only thing I see wrong...as the helmet to helmet contact. Undeniable. Other than that, he should've been expecting blocks on the return...he wasn't that far from the play.

If the AD said it was true then it would raise too many questions. So I suppose I answered my own question - the AD will remain silent on the issue except for the strategically placed tidbits of info that they want the Knox media to have and to report. And more importantly what the AD wants the Vol fans to believe.

I thought the same thing, but I just don't know how he could unless he were to convince one of his sources to come out. But, I don't think that's gonna happen because Hargis seems very reputable and wants to protect his sources.

Unless, one of his sources wants to...

I've been at the Virginia High School State SemiFinals . Doesn't look like my Oakton boys are gonna pull through tonight. Always next year.
Anyway, been away for most of the day. Anything newsworthy besides Gruden being a done deal and absolutely not coming?
Any other names coming up (Stoops Patterson Gundy) ?

I'll hang up and listen.

I would love to see it. This is just too much cloack and dagger stuff after proving that you botched the best chance at a game changing hire we had.

Right. He had every right to hit him or block him but not stick the top of his helmet in the QBs face and launch into him..
Not even a close call.

Heck, the TFP article discussed staff members who were planning to come with him, and fully believed the deal would be done. Rucker reported he called Bisaccia to be his ST coordinator at TN. Hubbs and Hyams both reported similar things. Gruden would not have gotten his whole package together had they not been well down the road. This is not the behavior of a casual conversation about hypothetically being interested in a job.

That TN and Gruden were close to getting this done is not an opinion or message board rumor mongering. If you'll recall, about a week ago Hyams and Mr SEC both reported that TN and Gruden were very close but that is when the "snag" stuff started and then Hyams went back to "less than 5%."

Anyway it doesn't matter now -- I don't think -- but just wanted to put this back out there so you guys don't feel like you were taken down a road by rumors. This was very very real.

Thanks Liper. That's what I was thinking too and that's why it didn't make sense. Do you think there is still a chance or do you think it is over?
