As much as I'm tired of seeing "my sources" at this point in the game, I'm exponentially more tired of people on here being called a "troll" either due to their lack of posts or not agreeing. Some of us have been here forever, but have sat back lurking, only reading boards to gain insight. Choosing not to contribute to the idiocy or not agreeing to yours does not constitute a troll. Don't like it? Oh well...your mama's a troll!

What baffles me is how people are quick to point the finger to people in message boards trolling or not being in "the know", but then are so quick to believe everything being reported in the media.

There are actually some people that do have connections and will try to share, but when they do they are seen as a troll.

Not gonna throw any names out there, but there were a couple of "OG's" that were completely trolling and one of there names was just recently brought up.

Agreed, but I am talking on our end. Our end is treating this like we are in the middle of some sort of negotiations with foreign countries about the welfare of the entire global population. It's hiring a football coach. Just let people know what you are attempting to do.

But it would be the greatest hire in NCAA history, media wise. If the problem is Grudens timetable, cloak and dagger may be what it takes. I still believe that the news leak out of Memphis was an attempt to sabotage the hire by getting the news out too early, thus scaring Grudens away from the table. It might have worked, but until they announce another coach, I think he is still in play.

Public perception. Image is 90% of the recruiting game. The last two weeks have dumped a big heaping turd on our image.

I have no idea what happened to get us to this point but it was poorly managed by our AD. Too little real information and too many bogus leaks from the AD AND boosters.

It's the cloak and dagger stuff mixed in with leaks from the boosters. Between the two of those things, our imaginations ran forth. I still think it can happen (I know call me crazy), but I wouldn't wager anything on it.

However, to conduct this "search" in such a manner, there needs to be a pretty darn good reason. Otherwise, you are allowing the fans to take the rock and run with it.

We saw a glimmer of hope in what has been five years of ugliness and leapt on it. Release some information in the beginning and this wouldn't have happened.

I honestly believe life is going to start getting harder and harder for Alabama starting this year.

Especially if UGA beats them tonite. The SEC is getting bigger, stronger and more badass.

I'm not making a prediction, but Texas sho would be a good place to retire. Recruiting base, oil money and private television network.....hmmmmmm

JMO, but i think JG might be holding out for the Texas job if he is serious about coaching in college.

I agree. I am not all the way out until all the info's out. I just wish this whole situation would have been handled better.

The boosters did?

I included the boosters AND AD in my discussion. He's obviously talking about the AD.

It's clear there's some flavor of mismanagement at the highest level. These are incredibly smart men that get paid a ridiculous amount of money ... and I mean the boosters and AD. To let this sitiation play out for two weeks in the court of public opinion without a single statement was ignorant (at best) or negligent (at worst).

This. Can't believe this whole situation has been handled so poorly. Oh wait no, I can believe it.

Embarrassing.

Exactly. What should have happened was Hart should have immediately started interviewing coaches that were never going to be the actual hire. By sitting still, he let the cat out of the bag. If the media would've had something else to talk about they might not have blown the story.

Gruden is emberassing. He let his agent dis us nationally, and, appareantly, doesn't care. Yup, Now we screwed

Still going with that is the strangest interview ever. Hart called to say that even though I've never talked to you, I will continue not to talk to you. I don't even get it.
