JMO, but i think JG might be holding out for the Texas job if he is serious about coaching in college.

JMO, If Gruden does not want the Tennessee job, where he coached previously, met his wife, where her parents still live, etc., then he is not interested in coaching college football.

I dont buy the interview rumors. Since when do they start leaking out interviews. I dont feel we will know who UT is looking at until a couple hours before its announced. The leaks are just cover.JMHO

Thanks Liper. That's what I was thinking too and that's why it didn't make sense. Do you think there is still a chance or do you think it is over?

Based on what I personally know, I think it is over. It still seems to me that "something happened." Others have hinted to things but I haven't heard a concrete answer as to what that was. Could be internal, but I also allow for the possibility that he just decided not to some. I'm leaning, however, toward the first one.

She only has her mother left, her father passed away several years ago, she still has family in the area though

Still going with that is the strangest interview ever. Hart called to say that even though I've never talked to you, I will continue not to talk to you. I don't even get it.

What are you talking about? Hart was basically on his way to meet with Gruden and Gruden said no thanks.

I often wonder who Foley at Florida has on his short list for HC candidates, seems like he knows what he is doing.

That's what the article on the KNS said from yesterday.

Knoxville News Sentinel said:
“I don’t know Dave Hart,” LaMonte said. “I’d never met him or talked to him. (Today) was the only time I talked to anyone from Tennessee.”

A source close to the Tennessee search who asked not to be identified because he was not authorized to speak to the media told the News Sentinel that Tennessee reached out to Gruden directly last week, but Gruden ultimately declined to pursue the job. The source supported LaMonte’s stance that no negotiations took place.

LaMonte said Hart’s call today was apparently a formality.

“He said, ‘I just wanted to do due diligence,’” LaMonte said. “I said, ‘Thank you, but Jon has made it clear he’s committed to ESPN.' He thanked me and said goodbye.”

I'm still standing behind my theory that its Gruden and has been the whole time, planned for a future reveal. IMO Hargis got too close to the story and since he isn't directly controlled by the Knoxville army of information, he couldn't be shut down on pushing his story, the AD got wind of this breaking too early, and have been in spin/shutdown mode ever since.

You don't go as far as Gruden did in regards to assistant staff if you're not pulling the trigger. I remain convinced its happening and the Hargis story was a combination of fact and last-minute spin by the AD to make it look like it may not happen to keep this from officially breaking for awhile

Really do appreciate your input.

Out of the theories and stories we've heard, yours is the one that makes more sense to me.

It's no wonder we are the laughing stock of the college football world.

I agree, but this one is from Woodbery who got the exclusive interview and LaMonte has since turned down other interviews. Whole article is strange.

I don't know what to think. LaMonte could just be deflecting for Gruden. I don't believe the first time he heard from UT was this week for a second.
