Yea i agree if they announce joker phillips then yea we can bash him but just because we aren't getting Gruden we still could still end up with a coach who can finish 7-5 in the next 5 seasons & top 50 recruiting classes. We will be just fine

Interesting topic. I will put this out there and you can flame away. I am not going to take sides only telling you what I know. Some of high power boosters in the Cleveland/Chatt area want him back. They believe the time away has taught him and reignited the fire in him. He has not moved on to other jobs due to the thought after the UK game last year we may be in this position. Now 2 facts I am not going to wavier on.

1. He and Hart had dinner not long ago
2. His hat is in the ring

I can not say this as fact but my understanding is Chief would return with him.

I will discuss pros and cons but I am not going to have a childish name calling contest because people use him as a punching bag.

My main con in this would be that he has been out of the game too long and would be week in recruiting. Not many kids these days outside of Tennessee have ever heard of Fulmer. Maybe if he had top notch recruiters. They used to say that he was one of the best closers in the business. I honestly don't think the fan base would get excited at all either.

I find it odd that he hasn't released a statement to Knox media saying something along the lines of how he loves Knoxville and the Vols however he has decided to stay at ESPN. They have family that lives here and you know some nut is going to give them a hard time. Just doesn't pass the smell test. It sure looks like this was done for more time.

Weeks have been spent building anticipation for the signing of Gruden. Now we are told he is not coming because he wanted too much money and the boosters are mad at Hart. What if this build up and take away were designed to gain financial support from boosters who are not currently giving for Gruden? Now the news is out that Gruden is not coming because we can't meet his demands. The AD can now go to presently uninvolved boosters and ask for money to save the hire, or since the current donations were for Gruden, to hire someone else.

Makes sense with Ainge's story from the knife works guy yesterday.

At least as much sense as anything else I've heard.

hmmm, what do u know suddenly theres no mention of grudens name in govols247 daily report. plus an article on there site has headline "so the gruden drama ends". hmm seems a little funny.

im still all in, silence is our friend:)
