And let me add that I think Boro, Gman, Lex, Jake,JayVols, DTO, OV and myself all posted things we heard that we also believed were completely true. Liper sounds good but idk him, seems to have a good reputation. Other than that there is no one out of the others here trying to keep everyone believing that I have any belief are more than trolling. Without being offensive I personally find the assertion that he is still coming not a version of reality.

I really like most of those in this thread though, with a few exceptions being those now trying to make **** up to keep people's hopes up and turn people against any hire not named Gruden. It's sad, some really good coaches out there we should be proud to have imo.

I wanted Gruden and believed with every fiber of my being he was coming but I was wrong, my sources were wrong, we got tied up in a web of bad information and that is über clear now.

What a royal f&ck up on dave hart and this.university. to have this coaching search turn out like this tells u how incompetent dave hart really is. The way it was handled a 12 yr old could do better. Im really not proud to be.a vol fan right now... unless we get gruden.

Best idea I've heard all weekend. Here's another: UT to get a line of credit at First TN Bank and offer Saban 10-12 million a year + staff salaries after his next championship. We could offer First Tennessee ads on the uniforms and helmets and no charges for sponsorship / commercials.

Another thing, how is it that the Tennessee athletic dept. has a reserve fund of 1.5 million and other SEC schools have 50-80 million? How is this even possible?

UT boosters and alumni that tightfisted or did someone blow through a pile of cash?

I hope someday you guys, that were kind enough to us unconnected souls, to let us know what really happened to put a fork in the Gruden deal. I know there was misdirection, but surely it was very serious at one point for so many to really believe we had a deal.

Add me to the folks who appreciate your info in the past few weeks. I really felt like this was done but something went haywire at the end. Not anyone's "fault" neccessarily but it's definitely time to move on to a guy who really wants to be here for a price we can pay....

I said it Friday and again on Saturday, I know when I am being told something not right. This entire story got shutdown for a reason and its not what everyone's been told through the media. Hart and Gruden got exactly what they wanted the brakes put on any deal that couldn't be announced until a certain timeframe that only they know.

I don't think anyone is intentionally trying to drag this on to **** the next non-gruden coach.

My thoughts have been that the reason this apparently 'fell apart' with Gruden 110% conflicts with all information we have gotten from the OGs and Hargis for months. It just doesn't make sense.

When attendance is down and you have fired coaching staffs for three different programs cash reserves dwindle very quickly....

Just pieced it together in my mind, not going to lay it all out there to be dissected. In short, I think a lot of this started and was steamrolled by a couple mid level boosters privy to some high level talk that post on "another forum". I truly believe now, after the fact, and from the outside looking in that it was never close from the university standpoint. It blew their minds how out of control the "Grumors" got.

I have been wrong before but just sharing. Not trying to sway anyone either way.

Listen to carter. It shut down because it wasn't ever real. It was the figment of many imaginations that got passed along and took on a life of its own.
