let it stay for awhile... I like it and this thing is not over yet. I know we may wind up with someone else, but we can still hope for now...So leave the banner....you never know what might happen.:thumbsup:

Reason #37 to believe we're getting Gruden:

If you believe all of the stories coming out of Knoxville it's as if

we're a restaurant that had the chance to hire Bobby Flay but instead decided to go with the snot nosed little prick working at Taco Bell because our GM was afraid Bobby might change the curtains.

Don't know if you guys saw baby's latest post in the Cliff's, but he actually posted several other comments late last night, all of which add up to he's still all in on JG. Even said he thought between Dec. 11-16 for an announcement. I'm not about to make a prediction one way or the other after the circus that has taken place, but I will say two things.

One, I know for an absolute fact baby is no troll and has connections. Not only has he brought accurate info for years over there, I know his name and his background, etc. as we have some mutual friends that went to HS with him. He certainly could be wrong, but he is as straight up a guy as any of the OG's over here or anyone I know anywhere, and absolutely would not mislead anyone on purpose.

And two, if Hart doesn't announce someone else by the end of this coming week, I'm going back to Grucon 1. The ONLY way that happens IMO is if it's Gruden and we're dealing with his timeline, as has been stated many times before. Regardless of what happens, this has been the craziest thing I've ever seen associated with UT or coming out of the Knoxville "media," such as it is.

LaMonte was wrong about all this talk being a fantasy. The script he was handed said it was "Child's Play." He inadvertently changed the wording failing to realize it was a coded reminder for OGs to be patient.

strong is not a proven winner

he has been at Louisville 3 years - barely had winning records for 2 of them.

This year, they played a pattycake schedule and didn't beat anyone who is in the BCS top 25.

Read the post (and my other posts) closely and pay attention to the WORDS and if you still think I'm being "cocky" then I can't help you. Words have meaning and they are all I have. If you don't understand their meaning then I can't help you beyond that. That whole post was in support of UT!! How is it possible that you cannot see that? Read it 4 or 5 times and really try to let it sink in.

$@#T.....I was hoping you'd convince me to get up about somebody else. At least during the Major's down years you knew he'd be back and I had hope that finally we'd see some of that Pittsburgh NC Johnny finally come through.

He quoted other unknown sources out of Knoxville. He never backed down on his initial article.

Strong said in an interview on Jim Rome awhile back that he is NOT leaving UL. Take that for what it's worth because we all know everyone says they aren't leaving and end up leaving. That's why I still driving the bus of the Jon Gruden bandwagon.

There are a lot if assumptions about what the OG's feel. Nobody has dropped off or slinked away.

BCarter is the only one I've seen distance himself from his sources or completely reverse his position.

My position is still firm but guarded. My information has not changed, and I still am trying to make sense if Fridays developments. One thing is certain, none if what happen adds up or passes the smell test. Until I'm told something different by those I trust, I'm still cautiously optimistic. I find it telling that we are still inside the original timeline that was expressed from the outset.

For those claiming we've disappeared from the thread.....I am seldom here much on the weekend. But I'm never far away. My life eats up my weekends....its much easier to post from work during the week.

My #2 is Bill OBrien, but Mora (with a hefty buyout), Patterson, Stoops or somebody like that would be okay, too.

I am not sold on Fisher at all. I don't love Strong, but could be convinced on him.

Finally, like the rest of you, I am ready to get some Tennessee people in the UT administration.

I just am saddened by the assertion constantly that UT football is dead with any other coach. That's such a terrible attitude imo. I have tried to make myself stop reading this thread but need rehab I guess.

I dont believe TN football is dead with any other coach. Until I am proven wrong, when that man walks out to that podium he is the answer to my prayers and is the best damn coach in the league cause he is the coach of my team. I do believe that Gruden was our best shot at immediate improvement. I do believe that Gruden bleeds orange and that means alot when your coach has ties to your team other than being the new coach. I will stand behind any man that stands with my VOLS and hope that he will do his best and will get us over some humps.....maybe not as quick or as well as Gruden but get it done nonetheless.

They all have exactly what hart described and that is fact. What your opinion of them is certainly to be debated but they clearly fit exactly what he described

Gundy is about the only one that has been consistently mentioned that I could get excited about. He's turned OSU into a winner in a big time conference. He's probably just using us to get a raise.

I get Strong and Gundy. Why would Fisher want to come to UT?
FSU is easier to recruit to with in state talent and playing in the ACC Vs.the SEC has to be a factor.

Someone tell me why he would want to deal with this mess.
