Lets keep it real here. Franklin is a great coach and I'm very hopeful for the Vandy future, but I need to see more.

Don't say that around here. There are MANY delusional UT fans ready to anoint Franklin the next Saban of college football.

The guy hasn't beaten ANYONE with a winning record and he's getting help in recruiting with the fact that UT is in the TOILET right now (reminds me of Fulmer in the 90s with the SECE coaching situations).

When UT is back on the map, the recruits Vandy are attracting will turn orange.

There are a lot if assumptions about what the OG's feel. Nobody has dropped off or slinked away.

BCarter is the only one I've seen distance himself from his sources or completely reverse his position.

My position is still firm but guarded. My information has not changed, and I still am trying to make sense if Fridays developments. One thing is certain, none if what happen adds up or passes the smell test. Until I'm told something different by those I trust, I'm still cautiously optimistic. I find it telling that we are still inside the original timeline that was expressed from the outset.

For those claiming we've disappeared from the thread.....I am seldom here much on the weekend. But I'm never far away. My life eats up my weekends....its much easier to post from work during the week.

Great to hear that!!! That sounds so much better than the Strong, Fisher, blah, blah, blah talk.....

I get Strong and Gundy. Why would Fisher want to come to UT?
FSU is easier to recruit to with in state talent and playing in the ACC Vs.the SEC has to be a factor.

Someone tell me why he would want to deal with this mess.

And they just broke ground on his new athletic facility that he has been asking for....can't see him leaving either

Reposting what babyvol wrote regarding someone saying it was looking like Fisher:

Re: This coaching search is just too vague for the times we are
You are right....except it's not Jimbo!

They all have exactly what hart described and that is fact. What your opinion of them is certainly to be debated but they clearly fit exactly what he described

The same could be said of your opine of them as well Bruin.

One question and I will leave you alone Boro...

have you heard from your sources after the lamonte announcement and are they still saying all is good?

Still hoping for Gruden. If it comes down to a Strong or Golden type hire, I would bite my tongue and welcome Petrino with open arms before accepting either.

I've gone back and connected the dots. I'm tired of telling people till I'm blue in the face its Gruden. Makes perfect sense to me. It's Gruden, period....

Made a $100 bet with my buddy last night, I'm sure of it.

None of the guys some say look like the likely coach, fit the description.

I know....I am afraid that we will wind up with a coach that might help us win a few games but we will not be a contender for the SEC championship or a national title. The SEC is a tough conference to compete in anyway but it is getting tougher to recruit in also. So I don't know who will fit that description.

That's so laughable. Hart said he wanted head coaching experience, integrity, a coach that knows what it takes to win a championship in the SEC and is a proven winner.

Strong, fisher , and Gundy all have been to BCS bowls as head coaches. That makes them proven winners. Gundy was a vote away from playing for the national championship certainly that qualifies him. Fisher and Strong have seen first hand what wins championships in the SEC.

If your not willing to admit these guys fit exactly what hart was describing you have your head DEEP in the sand!!

Boro- if all of this slides in a direction we don't want. I want to thank you for your diligence, honesty, and for keeping the hope alive. As a medical professional I know these things are life saving.
This hire could've heartbreak for many passionate fans, and you have helped keep the peace
Thanx

So, since we are Gruden nuts, let's play along the lines that after the super fast kill of UT actually having a serious offer in Grud's hands it was a huge smoke bomb to slow down everything for the Dec 11+ or so date. Then Hart will be working like a bee to come up empty for a couple more weeks and then lo and behold we've fixed the Gruden offer? Sounds like a story I can believe after all the other info. I'm still in the Gruden dream, so let me live it till Hart F@#!s it up.

Could be for an urban Meyer type reason. He's losing everyone significant, hes in the ACC where one loss pretty much puts you out of the NC race, the ACC is getting weaker believe or not and we have waaaaay better facilities. With that said... He can underachieve at FSU and stay away from Tennessee.

There is no real number 2! It's JG or bust! For me anyway....this hire way to important to let it go!! So ole soda will ride this baby out till the end!
