We can certainly debate their ability to win here. I personally don't like 2 of them nearly as much as one but the Fact they meet exactly what hart described isn't debatable

My window is full-blown open, with my finger jammed on the "up" button, moreso now than ever.

I'd be less likely to think Gruden was actually happening if the last two day's hadn't happened. If you get a chance, read my post in this forum. It's long, but if you have faith that he's still a possibility, you may like and agree with some of the theories I throw out there (and disclaimer, they're not all my own - others feel this way too.)

Not only has he brought accurate info for years over there, I know his name and his background, etc. as we have some mutual friends that went to HS with him. And two, if Hart doesn't announce someone else by the end of this coming week, I'm going back to Grucon 1. The ONLY way that happens IMO is if it's Gruden and we're dealing with his timeline, as has been stated many times before. Regardless of what happens, this has been the craziest thing I've ever seen associated with UT or coming out of the Knoxville "media," such as it is.

"Grucon 1" Heh! Good post - I'll second that ab BabyVol, although in the interest of full disclosure, the other 2 kingpins on tos, LWS & Deerpark, don't (or at least haven't) agreed w baby. This speculation is still more fun than our football season was! No matter who ends up as our coach, I hope someone writes a book about all the behind-the-scenes stuff! I'd be the first to buy it, unless it's Clay Travis, then I'd just have to read the Cliff Notes!

I will say this again.

FISHER IS NOT COMING TO TENNESSEE! His son is extremely ill and has a fatal blood disorder. Plus his son is all seminole.

LETS LOOK AT THIS FROM A PROCESS OF ELIMINATION standpoint and put the pieces togeather... anyone care to start?

They are saying they have heard nothing from anybody that carries the juice to change their mind. That is what is crazy and does not add up. I actually put a little stock in Macgruders theory. It happened once before back in October when everyone got too close.....it just wasn't as severe that time.

I think that's certainly plausible. Anyone with a brain can see that there has been a lot of misdirection during this whole affair. It's a small glimmer of hope that I hold onto, that won't be gone until someone else is announced.

The thing is, If all this is a conspiracy set up by the AD/top tier boosters to shut down the frenzy/leaks why would Gruden need the secrecy? I am assuming ESPN?

What you need is somebody who will come here, have success and "become" a part of UT--be like Fulmer was in the late 90s. Like Pat Summitt and the Lady Vols.

If it is an outsider, then you look at Neyland as an example. He was not from Tennessee, but came here and became the father of the program.

You can debate whether any coach can have success, but the deciding factor has to be that they see this as a destination job (not like Kiffin). That is why Gruden was so attractive. He has so many ties to the program, the school and East Tennessee, you could see him really buying in.

Every hire we make is high risk at this point. Load the contract with moral clauses, give him a budget that allows for stellar recruiters and roll the dice. I want to win again and I don't care if Petrino rolls through the T on a Harley with a different blonde coed every week at this point. No more up and comers.

U got me on that one, lol. But i highly doubt fisher. There was a special on espn inside fsu not to long ago. Like i said his son has a rare blood disorder and is die hard seminole fan. From what it looked like he was very comfortable there.

'Boro, I just want to thank you for continuing to give us all hope that this might work out. You and the other OGs have been very consistent in your info. No matter how this works out, I am just very thankful to you for sticking your necks out and providing us hope. I still hold out hope this will work out.:thumbsup:
