I'm not hitching my wagon to Brent Hubbs. But, I'm not going to dismiss everything he says as B-S either.

I don't disagree, I was just pointing out that quite a bit of Hubbs reporting is based on things that are either commonly known, or commonly held opinions.

Having said that, seeing him and the other knoxville reporters flopping around like fish in a dry lake is pretty interesting.

It is clear that they are dependent on the AD for information. They are among the most inept media I have seen. They ignore obvious storylines. They never followup on interesting leads. There is no investigation outside of pestering people with texts.

That would be me.

Remember this'en? :) Put a couple salutes to the 60s/70s in there just in case anyone notices.

Big Bad Jon

(Big Jon Big Jon)

Every morning at UT you could see him arrive
He stood five foot ten and weighed 185
Outspoken fellow who shot from the hip
And everybody knew you didn’t give no lip to Big Jon.
(Big Jon Big Jon) Big Bad Jon (Big Jon)

Nobody seemed to know where Jon called home
Cause he worked in his office all night long
Drawing up plays and watching game film
And everybody knew not to mess with him, Big Jon

Somebody said he came from Tampa Bay
Where he took his team all the way
Now he’s come home to Tennessee
Gonna lay waste to the SEC, big Jon.
(Big Jon Big Jon) Big Bad Jon (Big Jon)

Then came that night on the Shields Watkins field
When the Alabama band refused to yield
Drummers were drumming and hearts beat fast
And everyone thought it was over at last, cept Jon

Through the noise and racket of this bama made hell
walked a giant of a coach the the Vols knew well
Grabbed Midget Boy by his crimson bandanna
and called out Spider! Two! Y! Banana Big Jon
(Big Jon Big Jon) Big Bad Jon (Big Jon)

Then with all his strength he kicked a might punt
And laid a boot to the Alabama runt.
And Vol fans rejoiced at this sight
They’d seen the launching of a ‘bama satellite.
by Big Jon

With flags and whistles the Refs had a look
But the couldn’t find a rule in the book
So they waited for Midget Boy to hit the ground
But the bama coach never came back down.
(Big Jon Big Jon) Big Bad Jon (Big Jon)

That second half was never played
Cause the bama players were too afraid
Big Jon was smiling and the game was over
Cause that’s how he rolls, the third Saturday in October.

(Big Jon Big Jon) Big Bad Jon (Big Jon)

FWIW my brother's coworker's sister is a fortune teller and she says its gruden. lol i wish i was kidding. I told him to ask so its a done deal.;)

You know the lottery was up to about 600 million and you asked about Gruden??????

I was having dinner with a few former associates of mine earlier who in conversation about our coaching situation (one is a Georgia grad, the other is a Vandy grad) mentioned to me that even if we were somehow to convince Gruden to come, there was absolutely no way he could legally do so while under contract during contractual season (MNF). He would have to wait until then to be able to sign the contract. Even still, they brought up a good point in that Gruden would not announce he is ditching ESPN during his contractual year (which can be penalized if he breaches) especially since ESPN will be airing multiple TN games per season for years to come.

Yeah, Knoxville media isn't impressive. It's telling that the story was given to Chattanooga's paper.

I'm glad this thread is once again flowing like white wine. It was looking grim this morning. Reeeeeal grim.

I'm putting my stock in Peyton Manning. He could sell sand to an Arab.
