I was thinking It might be hard for Peyton to support Strong since he does have income from PaPa Johns and us going after their coach ( PaPa Johns Stadium )

Oh I know. I really think its best for me and us to just let it go. I probably shouldn't have let it gone on for so long.

These people who are hammering away at me are people who put their pants on one leg at a time like me. They have been a fan, like me, through all of this mess. Like me, they want to see TN win and do well. There is really no sense in anyone tearing down a fellow fan. I simply have a different opinion about Gruden than them.

He would deflect the question i think. If he said it I would be more inclined he is out. Depends how tight of a corner he got put in. If it were to happen.

Bruin ... He's getting hammered here because HE initiated the fight. I simply asked him why he was here if he didn't believe in the Gruden cause. He replied back that I was 'downing' him and silly crap about my world shrinking because of my narrow view (paraphrasing but that's about right). As another poster asked "what do you hope to gain out of this? Do you want us to tell you how smart you are?".

As I tried to explain, I'm not totally convinced Gruden will be our coach. I just look at the alternatives and they scare the hell out of me. As I said in a previous post, Gruden is our home run in many ways. Every other realistic candidate is an improvement over our last coach, but not enough to take us to the promised land. THAT'S why these good people are holding out hope. Because Gruden is our savior.

If you don't believe this, that's fine. But why venture into our forum and call us idiots for believing? Makes no sense.

No I wouldn't. Some would but who gives a damn if they do? It's their choice to believe that and it's your choice to annoy the hell out of them for having an opinion.

Let it go then... we aren't making you stay, there are other threads for other coaches, but this is the Gruden thread. It's like trying to go into a church and convincing everyone god doesn't exist... well maybe we don't have that much faith in Gruden, but for the most part, we're open to the idea that "there's a chance", not that he is "definitely coming".

Just thought of a way to make a statement now by the UT AD. To get recruits attention and give hope to Gruden hire..go ahead and hire is staff that is available...hopefully his closest coach friend...Ron Zook and that would send a clear message and keep his contracts safe whether mnf or tb and give us a leg up in recruiting..

It's all good. I just saw a bunch of post asking for a direct quote while claiming a direct quote was worthless. Seems ironic to me
