I hope,..... but not sure it will be soon. Like they said Saban was January. If it's Gruden there is a time line issue. ESPN, assistants, Bucs...... I don't know? If he's going to coach again this is his chance though. Don't think the family is open to going just anywhere. JMO.

Next coach? My opinion? It will be one of these three: Strong, Fedora, or Gundy.

I used to think Fisher but the more I read, the more I think he stays at FSU. It actually makes more sense for him to stay at FSU.

That he was happy where he was at espn and did not receive an offer from Tennessee. He also said that the rumored brown deal was false.
Thats it. He.did not deny anything or say he wasnt interested.

First i say i want gruden, but u left out some. He did say he liked his job and wanted to keep it, and didn't want to get into all that 'the ut rumor's' may have just been a blow off? But he did say that

The fact of the matter is if gruden says he isn't going to coach us tomorrow night on MNF many on here would just quote Saban more and still believe.

Im not sure who is coming now but i would not believe we had a chance if he came out and said it. I just think this whole thing has been weird. Babyvol retracting his statement from friday and being all in again is very interesting. The man has some sources. Im not saying he is 100% correct but he had already ate crow and said it wasnt happening. He had to get sone pretty strong info to do a 180 again.

Not true. His sources were both on Gruden's side. I don't know if he came out and said this or not but one of the reasons Hargis was so sure of one of his sources was because Gruden called the guy when they were having lunch and the source showed him his phone and walked away.

Not saying they weren't on Gruden's side... 1 of the sources was a prospective coach for Gruden's staff, the other was a booster involved in the deal, presumably Thunder. That means, if Gruden and Booster's sides wanted the deal, then the only cog that isn't/wasnt' turning is/was Hart...

Dave Hart and Jon Gruden have not been directly quoted about the UT HC job.

An anonymous UT official is 1 source.

Gruden's agent LaMonte is the other.

Gruden was asked during a weekly appearnace on ESPN Radio's Mike & Mike show, but only in regards to the report from WREG Memphis TV station website.

Others do not, and can cite their reasons as well.

In the end, it doesn't really matter what we believe...what happens will happen.

Not trying to make any waves, but the closest to an actual quote from Jon himself was that he didn't feel it was a good move AT THIS TIME. Maybe I am looking at it all through orange tinted glasses, but there is a lot of "sources" being quoted. Again, not trying to fight or argue, not my thing.....just enjoying the ride so far.

I don't ever remember him fumbling at TN but then I have a really short memory for unpleasantness. I can't even remember who our last coach was. Did we ever even have a coach before Gruden?

Look, I have no more to gain by downing anyone here for wanting Gruden or hanging on to Gruden than you have for downing me for asking the question or wanting to be on the thread.

I don't judge or condemn anyone here for hope or their dreams....

Personally I don't see Gruden coming to TN because he has said so and our AD has said that they are not pursuing him. Genius right? Takes out all the guess work. :thumbsup:

UT AD has not said that they were not pursuing Gruden.
