Official Jon Gruden Thread XIV

It's been said that the booster's donated for the hiring of Jon Gruden, not just to hire some guy as coach, which would earmark that money and be grounds for it's return.

That leaves UTAD with 6 million for the next 3 yrs to pay buyouts and pay new HC and staff.

So, who are we going to get to coach for pennies?

I doubt this happens, only way we go that long is an interim coach, and its not happening with recruiting.

I'll root for us getting Gruden up to the point where people start suggesting we use Fulmer as an interim for a year. At that point y'all have lost me.

I think strong might be close to a homerun. His recruiting rankings are not the best but its freakin Louisville. I think he would recruit like crazy here.

He's ranked at the top of his conference in recruiting since he's been there. Imagine him with UT's money for recruiting and the best facilities in the country.

I'm still saying Gruden though.

There's no if, he would lose here. He's had one good season and that's it. Look at him this year.

He seems in a situation that I would think we get most anyone before Gundy. Just don't see the guy leaving his current situation. Would have been like fulmer leaving ut.

Welcome. I've been on many of the various VOL message boards over the years, but never signed up to post. Have been reading this one for a number years before I signed up.

IMO, this one is the best. It has an excellent variety of Threads to participate in or just lurk, learn and laugh. The mods are good, Freak runs a tight ship and is very helpful. There are alot of knowledgeable posters. You get the usual trolls and negative folks.

I would recommend for the newcomers, who are interested in Tennessee Football, history and writing, take the time to go back and read OneManGang's Weekly Maxim posts from this year's season. They are IMO a must read. If you don't know what Neyland's Maxims are ... easy enough to google.

soon.

Thank you I had a buddy try to get me to check this place out years ago but I never did. And yes I do know the maxims I was born a vol from a family of vols. Goin back generations in my family. I was the guy in high school writing my term paper on the University. Don't know if people do this but this is 3 generations of vols me, my dad, and my son

Different poster, but thanks for the suggestions. I've only come aboard recently, myself. Just like everyone else trying to find as much news as I could. I'll have to agree, the people on this forum (and especially this thread), are a fun group to be around, with plenty of laughs. Once I have time to peruse the other threads (it's hard enough to keep up with the few I've been watching), I'll go back and check those out, too.
