How can you still be Gruden? It is obvious that this complete blithering idiot Currie really was about to trot out Schiano as HC. There is way to many real legitimate news sources saying it. This was/is not a smokescreen, this was fixin ta happen. I believe you got info you thought was real, but come on..I'm not saying this in any kind of angry way, I really just can't see how you still believe after today..

I am not sure if it was agents or the AD. This was never going to happen. I am sticking to my guns. I'll go down with it too.

I can understand the frustration. That said, there are other coaches out there who can win at UT. Heck, as much garbage as Norvell gets on here, the guy is winning, and winning big. I would not be thrilled with it, but we should've come to expect not stellar hires by UTAD by now.

That said, the Schiano fiasco is something else entirely. That's why I don't... I can't believe that Currie is this incompetent. I also don't believe for one second that the academic side would remotely come close to approving this.

This is just so hard to believe for me. I can’t believe it until I hear it from Currie.

We wanted Gruden. Pretty much everyone knows that. We also knew that it was a long shot, but we were optimistic. I don’t think many people were going to be shocked if Gruden didn’t happen.

Outside of Gruden, there were other decent options. Not many “home runs”, but average coaches who have potential and would have probably taken the job.

I didn’t want any of these coaches, but they would have been 1000% better than Schiano. I’ve been anti-Mullen this whole time, but he would have been better than Schiano. Norvell would have been better. Brohm, Fleck, Campbell, hell Kiffin would have been better.

I genuinely believe Lane Kiffin would have had less backlash than Schiano is getting right now.

This is why I can’t believe that we reached to the literal bottom of the barrel for one of the top 10 jobs in College Football.

You beat me to it, but this is what I've been thinking since this started. It's gone too far to be a smokescreen. If, for the sake of argument, you buy the entire Booster/Gruden masterplan per Beav and the rest, what's to say that eliminating Currie wasn't part of the plan all along, or became part of the plan when Currie wouldn't play ball? The powers that be axe Currie over this, in swoops Blackburn with Gruden on a silver platter.
