I posted this the day Butch was fired, when Currie said he wouldn't be using a search firm. There's only 3 reasons you don't hire a search firm....

1. You are planning to promote from within
2. You already know who you're hiring
3. You are so arrogant as a hiring manager that you think you can do it without help

We all thought it was #2, but clearly it was #3.

We now have two possible problems

1.) If Schiano was hired two weeks ago and we owe him $20M then we're screwed there and anyone who signed off on this needs to be gone, President, Chancellor and BOT members all need to be gone.

2.) Who ever the AD is next week, be it Currie if he's still got a job or some interim AD, we have no bargaining power with any coach now, the next coach can literally name his own price and buyout and we'd really have no choice but to give it to him.

Currie really f$&kes this up.

I still think everything is blown way out of proportion and GS was never a legitimate candidate.......sometimes you have to watch the last 5 minutes of a movie for the whole plot top make sense.

His resignation statement is all that's needed. Currie has to go. He is damaged goods and can't be helped now.

About “insiders” info. Let’s get something straight. They offer that stuff up for attention and insider status. Maybe they want to let us know what they know, but mostly they like attention. We don’t go seeking them out and interrogating them. They offer it up. And we like giving them attention because we want to know what they know. But when your info is exactly the opposite of what actually happens then you have no right to be upset when others question you. And I guess the rest of us shouldn’t get mad about putting our trust into anonymous posters who day by day say the most cryptic things I’ve ever heard in my entire life and never say anything flat out and in plain English. But I’m the end I hope we all want to see this program restored story it’s former glory. With that said I’m gonna find something more productive to do with my time from now on, so I will GTFO. Knuck you have my email and if it turns out that I owe you then I will be there. If not I may bring it to you anyway.

My connection is very slow, seems like every time I try to post, I end up 3 pages behind. I'm not reading back through everything, but in case anyone is calling out me or knuck or other folks who are still all in on Gruden, I wanted to say I'm still not going anywhere. Laggy connection makes rational discourse problematic, but I've had no reason to change my belief that this has been done and will be announced publicly soon. (No, I still don't have a timeline.)

he has a protected twitter account, so only people he selects can read his tweets. his reach on twitter is very limited.

starting to have very serious doubts about this guy.

Leave all the posters that tried to bring information alone. I doubt any of them brought info to the table attempting to be malicious. Likely just going off of what they were told. We came together today as a fanbase and prevented a horrific mistake from coming to fruition. Now let's run Currie out and get us a real AD.

He was. The only proof you need to know that is the UTAD did NOTHING to quell the raging firestorm while this was engulfing UT. A one line press release avoids all of the nastiness today, but it didn't happen because we were trying to hire Schiano. That's all there is to it. It was real, and it is unforgivable. Currie must now fall on the sword.
