I honestly this is part of the power struggle between Haslam and everyone else. Currie probably said, Ive got a buddy we can hire to stay on Haslams good side and Haslam is such a power hungry jackass he signed off on it. Theres a reason Currie chose to avoid using a search firm. He didnt want anyone to find dirt on Schiano and nix the deal.
He was. The only proof you need to know that is the UTAD did NOTHING to quell the raging firestorm while this was engulfing UT. A one line press release avoids all of the nastiness today, but it didn't happen because we were trying to hire Schiano. That's all there is to it. It was real, and it is unforgivable. Currie must now fall on the sword.
Beav is 100. He was putting it out for us. They are working tonight I am sure.
GRUDEN IS NOT COMING TO TENNESSEE! GET off of his NUT SACK and stop this embarrassing BS! PLEASE!!!! What sane person (coach) would want to take a job at a University where the fan base is so consumed with Jon Gruden that anyone not named Jon Gruden would be a disappointment! I can tell you who......Butch Jones!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry if Im late with this, but another report that its off, Currie expected to address media.
