Official Jon Gruden Thread XLIII

I'm starting to wonder if any of the Gruden stuff was EVER true the more I think about it. I find it hard to believe this Tampa meeting and the "Gruden contacting Tee Martin and Dale" ever actually happened. It just feels soooooooo long ago now. It's just hard to believe this was ever an option after getting a better glimpse into how Currie's mind operates following today's debacle.

Currie's mind actually operates?

Crazy how we've become the college version of the Cleveland Browns. Have we been leaning that way for years and I just wasn't able to see it? I see it now and it sucks.
So far since Haslam took over the Browns they are 20-71 in 6th season. Including 0-11 so far this season.

I believe it was just the first two. I think they went around everyone else.

Nope. Davenport has to also sign. Remember when the AD search was going. Everybody wanted Blackburn. She was a yes woman for the Haslams and went and hired Currie. The Haslams wanted him and not Balckburn.

Currie and Davenport both need to go.

Someone quoted LWS from TOS -

Schiano was the #1 guy 2 weeks ago.

Unbelievable.

If their cloak and "only 4 dagger know" operation was this ?......Blackburn better be AD by sundown tomorrow..Need Doyle and Grand to enforce this sundown thing though

For me, for someone to testify under oath that Schiano was complicit and that Schiano has never attempted to sue for defamation tells me all I need to know.

I guess you can root for OSU if you still like him.

I said it was NOT my feeling! I was just passing on how others are viewing this!

Currie and Davenport both need to go.

Anyone involved in this travesty needs to go..

I’d like to apologize as well. When I reported info, I named the names of the mid level boosters, the one man within the AD and even a BOT member. I’ve read texts with my own eyes and spoke to second hand informed people in person. I’m a die hard Vol fan who grew up with season tickets. I fully believed we were getting gruden. I’m sorry that hasn’t happened and until we get a new AD it will not happen.

Let me tell you what I have heard.

The mid level boosters are backing off their pledges to the renovations of Neyland. They have heard the big boys are as well. It’s almost unanimous that they want Currie out. I don’t see him making it through this. The chattanooga guys are all pushing hard for Blackburn. It appears that has gained traction throughout the night in Knoxville. The understanding is Currie was telling certain boosters what they wanted to hear and working with Haslam in private.

We are fortunate that these boosters and VFL received a leak about schiano becoming the next head coach. This promoted them to use their connections and get our congressmen and the next potential governor to weigh in. This political pressure was what broke the camels back. Currie was prepared to trot schiano out and the fans would end their protests and move on within the week. This political pressure also forced Espn to show the tweets. This was much more influential then most are aware.

Don’t eat your own. This isn’t anyone’s fault on the board. That’s a fact.

Somebody earlier referred to the Montreal Screwjob. We now have the Tennessee Screwjob. Sorry if someone has already posted something similar. I'm running a few pages behind. Currie needs to be ran out of town on a rail, and the Haslems need to stick to running gas stations....of which I shall no longer be stopping at!

Nooooooooooo.

Currie must be fired. He has no buisness being part of this coaching hire going forward.

Atlanta Vol or any other boosters. Please push Currie out of the door.

I understand what your all saying, and I'm not saying that I don't agree, but it's not going to happen. I promise I'm not trying to argue with any of you, I'm just being logical.

Currie will be allowed to make a hire, regardless.

Anyone not calling for John Currie's head, isn't a real Vol fan. He should've been fired tonight, he better be fired tomorrow.

Blackburn as AD, restart the search and do it right.

Ohh and any Vol fan who stops at a Pilot, you are part of the problem. Screw that inbred Haslam family.

From my understanding. Ergen and Anderson are using their influence and bringing in the other large and mid level boosters to over power the “mega booster Haslam”. They will encourage the BOT to iniate a vote and vote yes to Currie being fired. They must first whip the votes as a politician does. The iron is hot and they know their best chance to strike is now.

Am I the only one leary of anyone acting like they know anything other than what we all know for sure which is....NOTHING.

Lol at you fools not wanting Mullen. We are about to be stuck with a legit no name on top of an incompetent AD and dying football program.

Just let it play out drama queen. Mullen is an average at best HC and absolutely do not want him as our HC. You have no clue who we are getting anymore than I do.

I've shared all I can, some would say too much. :) There is no chance I misunderstood. I think Boomer vol indicated he had been told "former Tampa Bay coach," but that is not what was conveyed to me.

I believe what I was told, that Gruden signed on the 14th. Whatever happens in the future with our coach and our program, I believe that event took place.

Thanks

No secret I wanted David as AD But I wanted to give John the benefit of the doubt. I thought John's personality might be able to effect what we needed. After today he and Davenport must be fired or resign. I am begging you all to turn the passion brought to bare against this hire to removing them. I have been talking for the last few hours to other boosters, former players, and friends in the AD and the outrage is universal. what has transpired today is inexcusable and we can't let up. They are unfit for the jobs they have and unfit for Tennessee. What happened today no matter how bad it looks or hurts it is a win for the good guys. I have never been more proud to be a Volunteer.

They must go

Thats fine. The stadium next year during all the home games can look like yesterday in the 4th quarter.
